  1. thanks PDB this is something that I have not tried 🙂 ... I will give it a go when I get back home from a business trip.
  2. Hi, I've tried in compatibility mode and have even updated DLL files....
  3. I have done that....and graphics card is a goody as I run some serious games which are way more detailed than the sim. Also as I stated that when I deadstick the plane with power off it runs as smooth as silk... it's got me totally beat.
  4. I'm running windows11... thanks Saun. I have even tried two different radios my radios are JR3810, Futaba 9CAP which are both on the transmitter setup menu...
  5. Good day fellow modellers. I have a real curly problem here as i own the original Phoenix sim with dongle etc from when I bought the Phoenix sim and have installed all the updates to Version 6. It has now become extremely jerky with propellor powered planes, but before you mention anything about updates and changing any settings, I have done all of those fixes. Here's the kicker, the moment I throttle back to idle with the powered planes, the simulator smoothes out totally, but open the throttle and the jerking starts again. This does not happen with unpowered gliders or with some EDFs which fly as they should, leading me to believe this is throttle related on any propped plane but as I said the I can throttle the edfs without any problems and I need to open throttle to launch gliders with no problems. I even tried changing all the program settings like reducing the frame rates, sound drivers-( set it back to openAl ), reduced the prop visibility.... I'm totally stumped so any help would be gratefully accepted.
  6. Hi BEB. Like you I've never done the Delton thing either but thought that it would be worth a go and there are many plans readily available. I will not be able to start this project for a while due to a hectic  overseas work commitment, so if anyone else would like to have a crack please take a lot of photos and keep us up to date.... We may well be onto something here! Kindest regards Richard
  7. Thanks gents, now we are getting into the direction that I was hoping it would go! Some great advice all round with the benefit of expertise. The only reason that I thought of the smaller Tucano was that I was dubious of the strength of Delton in the larger one, that and I have already built the 30" out of balsa in the past.... Great design Mr Hawes!!!!
  8. Oh man I'm so out of my league when I see what beautiful jobs you guys have made with these planes! I must admit to love having a nice piece of balsa wood on a building board and foam just does not evoke the same emotion.... But hey it's convenient , cheaper and more accessable......
  9. Gosh Colin you done a fantastic job on that Tucano... It looks stunning mate, what power plant are you using?
  10. Wow thank you gentlemen for all your comments.... I will give it a go and then post some feedback as I believe that this could lead onto something new for us modelers to explore Many thanks again.
  11. Hi fellow flyers. I am a newbie to this site and I have a question please. Has anyone ever built the Nigel Hawes 30" Tucano out of 5mm depron and is it possible? I live in new Zealand and balsa tends to warp here... so I was thinking of building it out of Depron. Many thanks in advance for any comments.
