Try Whites Models - http://www.whitesmodels.com/wheels--retracts - their aluminium retracts are brilliant!
-
What's not to like? Looks good to me.
-
And I wouldn't even attempt it if there's a cross wind!
-
Or were they going to be more bank and yank?
-
@Richard
Could you check your email again please, I've just sent you another one to see if that gets through, sent from my home Mac this time. Failing that, all as per our 'phone conversation today.

Thanks Paul, as you say, it's semi scale so doesn't look too bad as it is, well at least yours and DD's don't!
-
Probably a stupid question and the answer will become clear when I get my one, but why can't the wheels fully retract into the nacelles like the full size?
-

Ok, ok you guys have finally convinced me that I really do need a 110. Jrman has already helped me out with the LA-7 as part 1 of my winter builds so are there any unstarted 110 kits out there in desperate need of a new home (please?).
-
Hi Walts, really good what you're doing. Any chance you could expand on the linked flaps using the Bowden cable please?
-
Good idea, didn't think of that!
-
+1 for getting the SLEC soldered threaded ends, much better than cutting thread. However, have you tried to solder some of the pushrods supplied with Great Planes 'kits', what a bu**er they are!
-
Have done it with 2mm ones but you have to go steady and use cutting fluid and be careful not to bend them whilst doing it!

i use m3 threaded rod with ball links, then heatshrink to cover,
i use this method on my own and customer planes, never had a problem.
use a matching colour heatshrink or a totally different one,

Apart from looking good and locking, what is the point of the heat shrink? Does it make the rod stiffer?

@Richard - retracts to suit incl oleos and any other bits for the build?
Trying to keep you listening, Jon isn't!
-
Well, thanks to jrman I will soon be in possession of an LA-7. So my winter project will soon be queued up in the workshop, just got to sort out a new motor for it now. Jon, are you listening?
-
Big or small works for me!
-
Well as it's my birthday in a few weeks time I've made my wish list and sent it up the chimney. I know that's what we do for Christmas and I know that I've got a wood burning stove, nevertheless I thought it was worth a try.
-
I wish, I wish, I wish!
-
So have we now got to a conclusion with this thread? No more kits from Richard?

And if said Sea Fury were capable of being powered by a v twin then I'd place another order with you Jon! I can imagine the sound now, on over-run after a fast (ish) beat up the runway. Oh yes!
-
Yes, Jon, that would do it for me!
-
Typical, the boat has sailed as I arrived at the quayside!
The law of S*d Richard, you should have made 20!
