The yellow one is a Tempest, the colours are that of a target tug, not a glorious finale for such a great aeroplane.
But at least it kept them going for a bit longer rather than being dumped on the scrap heap. Rudolf was much the same and I’m going to paint my belly yellow (lower down has already developed that colour naturally 🤮 🥴) to try and eke out a few more years too.

I would suggest listening to those who actually own EVs for ranges they have achieved.

FWIW, my input. Single engine jobbie, P47 (Sea Fury I want but will mod a Tempest kit). Twins just got to be the Mossie. And I would add that I’m more than happy with dolly launch / belly land rather than retracts.

twist and turn retracts, maybe not
Dolly launch, belly land. Does away with the twisty turny things altogether.

That's probably it from me for a bit.
A true gent to the end, many thanks Jon.

Agreed - twist and turn retracts are even more of a pain than plain ordinary retracts.
My eFlite retracts on my H9 Hellcat were a right pain so I modified them to have the external ball links, they are now far better.

Well said Brian.

No, the thread should not be closed.
I see not posts of a complaint nature on here, most are discussing the situation and there are some who are unsure about what is happening with regard to orders (unfulfilled despite being paid) and ‘repair’ work that has been promised. It’s all well and good for Jon to post on here but with respect he is no longer an employee of Laser and it would be rather nice if an official Laser (AGC) response to those affected was made (not through this forum).

the tooling is the company, and they have nice tooling.
Probably not owned by them, just hired.

At long last, another chapter, this is no6 and is a short one so that you know I'm still alive and its about the flap / aileron conversion I've done on the wings - enjoy.

Yes, a very poor copy of a Laser, poor materials and bad machining.

Remember Solarfilm anybody ?
That was a lot more viable business than Laser (with all due respect), yet nobody took it on.
They were beaten at their own game by Far Eastern products that were / are arguably better than their own (with the exception of 'tex and Clear Coat). Regarding taking it on, I did enquire about the rights to produce Clear Coat but was told that I couldn't afford it!

Not necessarily, the sub 50cc market wants 4 strokes due to noise restraints and Laser offered an excellent range to suit that (dwindling) market and as for mess, what mess, the latest Laser engines running low oil produce no more mess than a petrol jobbie.

Various options here, as a cottage industry you would seek out precision engineering companies who would produce parts in their 'down time' so it would be a limited supply but still a supply. Alternatively, there are precision engineering companies in India who could produce small runs of the parts. The assembly of the parts would then be done here, in the UK by a one man band type setup. Over simplifying I know but..........

Being able to perform well executed circuits and fig 8’s will get you flying solo long before low passes and touch and goes will and those skills are the bedrock for everything else.

I was thinking more on the lines of a 'cottage industry', as a full blown business it just doesn't stack up.

IMO that is not the correct way to progress! Consolidation of what you have been doing with particular emphasis on level flight control and neatly executed rectangular flying circuits (downwind parallel to take off leg and consistent height) together with figure of 8’s (same size circles irrespective of wind direction) should be your aim!

but the fact of the matter is that the bosses of Laser are perfectly entitled to do as they please with the business as they see fit and suits them best
And we mere punters who have put thousands into their coffers (possibly only covering their costs or maybe not even that) are entitled to query the, on the face of it, very selfish attitude of taking the Laser name to the grave with them rather than allow an opportunity for others to step in to continue it (much as Neil did when he retired). Of course there may well be no takers but at least keep the door open.

I fly mine with a Jumper T-lite Tx and find that it’s far better to fly it with stab on!

Has anyone found out how to fly these without the stabilisation
Yep, carefully!

I reckon getting rid of 35 will be no problem Richard especially when we all see your finished example. I’m more concerned about B&Q running out of sample pots of paint.
