Thanks for all of the help & advise - plenty to check-out & have a go at. Yes, my friends plane plies ok at half throttle but really need it flying well throughout the rev range (like mine do) - dont want it taking off to the moon when transitioning from 1/2 to full throttle

My question was actually for a friend, the last two comments are very interesting as hes also had to add weight to the nose and add more downthrust. Surely the manufacturer should have it sorted as an ARTF ?

Anyone come across a MaxThrust Riot XL that flies great around 1/2 throttle but when anything higher is applied it causes a massive rate of climb ?? Cant see it being a CG issue as only really one place battery can go and its a correct size. Possible engine thrust issue ? Not enough downthrust - really not sure. Thoughts ?

Can anyone help with a bit of Futaba (6K) programming ? I've got all the `basic` stuff working for my 6-chan receiver/glifer with flaps combination incl. Dual-Rates & Mixing (aileron/rudder). Model Type is set at Glider 2AIL1FLP Really struggling to understand the following:- 1) Where do you find the Camber settings ? (page 106 in my manual) 2) Condition (page 136) - really dont know what this is - does it simply make switches Active ? 3) Would you normally use Trim Mix to setup Flight Modes ? (I'm trying to setup Launch & Thermal modes ANY help appreciated - thanks (I'm very new to programming transmitters)

Just purchased a Reichard Elipsoid Evo Pro 2.8M powered glider. Surprised at the lack of (and poor) instructions supplied on a few pieces of photocopy. Anyone actually built one of these before ? Do you know of any decent walk-throughs or proper instructions ? Even the basics don't seem to be covered yet the model looks quite well put together. Purchased it from T9 - waiting to hear fro them but I'm not hopeful

Can anyone recommend a decent (non-foam) electric Trainer that looks good and performs well ? Nothing against foam (I already have two) but just want something a bit more solid ? I've a decent budget for one but not sure which model/manufacturer to look for. I've got both 3C & 4C batteries Thank you

Can someone recommend a decent sized, well built, decent quality ARTF or RTF Powered Glider suitable for an intermediate flyer ?

It's not just this sport - I'm heavily into another pastime (Music - Brass Bands) and we are suffering exactly the same problem of not enough youngsters coming through. Music takes many, many years to perfect - I don't think this goes well with modern society. Alot of the issues I put down to education in that kids rarely do woodwork/metalwork/music these days so don't gain the skills needed and don't gain a `love` of building something. My children, who are in their mid 20's, wouldn't have a clue how to correctly cut wood/make joints/fix a door etc etc. Shame really as they are missing out on so much especially with RTF ARTF models being available at a reasonable cost.

Nope, fixed wing after a holiday in France where I had the opportunity to try out an electric glider - brought it all back

I recently came back into the hobby after a 40yr layoff - back in the mid 70's was flying a Gangster with an OS40 using Futaba 27Mhz. There were no electric motors then........or not that I can remember All build your own kit (got my Gangster down to just over 4lb from memory) - RTB or ARTB back in the day. I see electric as the way forward - certainly is for me anyway. Situation will only improve with better battery technology. My concern for the hobby is - where is the new blood to keep this great hobby going ?

Liking the music keyboard stand idea

Recently back in the hobby after a long layoff, looking for practical ideas for some sort of box/support for my average sized foamys when working on them. What do people use ? Was thinking us using one of those cheapish Stanley workmates in some way but I bet there is better out there just cant find it

Can someone recommend a decent quality Gyro for Futaba gear/fixed wing aircraft ? Need one that works a bit like the good gear on the E-Flite Apprentice S 15e model - 6-axis, flight stability etc Don't really know where to start with this one
