  1. Hi, There are many pictures in our albums etc that are still missing. Are these irretrievable now or should we update our albums with fresh pics.   Cheers   Adrian
  2. Hi, Sorry folks but the pictures seemed to have disappeared when the original site was ported over to the new one. I am not able to get to my home computer for a little while to update the pics here with fresh ones. There are some pics in the RC Groups site in the scale electric section... search fairey battle or adrianh. (Sorry Timbo). Hopefully the ones that were here in our galleries can be recovered to their former glory.   Adrian
  3. Hi Terry, I found them very useful. They are the ones that swayed my decision to go for the Battle Of France scheme. Sadly there are few decent pictures of the finer details for this aircraft, so pics like yours are a great help. Maybe it could trigger creation of a special forum for open source aircraft detail pics as a source of detailed information.   Adrian
  4. Hi, My choice would be: Civil:   1/ Miles Messenger                                              ??Maybe include options for both on the plan?? 2/ Miles Gemini   3/ DH Chipmunk   Warbird:   1/ Martin Baker MB5   2/ Fairey Firefly   3/Dewoitine D520
  5. Hi, I am away on business for a couple of weeks so the maiden will has had to be postponed until mid February. I hoped for a weather window but it was not to be.   Adrian
  6. Hi Chris, It refers to literally a sticky label so that it sticks to the leg and winds around to build up the thickness to look more like the scale size. One article I read re the slip wing was to see if take off distance and better rates of climb were achievable at high all up weights. In particular for the convoy protection Hurricanes that would have to launch off a short catapult. As the Sea Hurricane was already operational and viable it was not worth pursuing. Adrian
  7. Hi Chris, The plans are a bit too big to take pics of. These are the working drawings (Tracings) that I used for the actual build. Unfortunately they are not in E- form yet. Adrian
  8. Many thanks Timbo. I will let you know. Adrian
  9. Hi Chris, Unfortunately there is little room as the lipo sits where the pilot would be. I will get a pilot figure and make as much of an instrument panel as space allows though. Adrian
  10. Well, she's ready for the maiden. Just need to arrange the use of a runway and fingers crossed. With a 3s 2200MAh 30c lipo she weighs 785g, 1lb 11 3/8 oz, a fair bit more than I would have wished but she doesn't feel that heavy. C/G is 30% mean chord and power tests using a 8x 4.5 prop has the plane just in a hover, so no shortage of pulling power. I couldn't find any decals of the right size/ font so hand painted them in the end so sorry for the less than perfect lettering. Adrian
  11. Hi Chris, Here are the pics of the wing build. Basically traditional structure with a full depth 3mm balsa spar with 0.5mm ply each side at the centre for the undercarriage mounting reinforcement. The wing is sheeted with 1.5mm balsa. I will put all the Battle pics in the gallery "Adrians models" Adrian
  12. I've still to do the squadron codes and aircraft serial. Other bits outstanding are the undercarriage fairings which will not be fitted until the flying characteristics are sussed, rear machine gun etc. I've around 100 pics of the build, so if there is anything of interest please ask and I will add it to the gallery. Adrian
  13. Thanks. All controls etc are done and tested. Just need to finish off the details before committing to flight. Adrian
  14. Hi, I'm nearing completion of the Battle. It was started mid November, but work got in the way a little which gas slowed things up a bit. The plans were scaled up from drawings in the Scale Models mag December 1970 (JF 2914) to give a model of almost 40" wingspan. Weight at present with everything bar lipo and prop is 550g, 19 1/2oz.. Traditional balsa construction, all sheeted wing, planked fuselage and built up tail feathers. It will be painted to represent K9324 HA-B of 218 Sqn which would appear to be the sole surviving squadron Battle from the carnage of May 1940. Pictures are in my gallery: Adrian's O/D E-Fleet Adrian
  15. Hi. I've updated my gallery to include some 3 views of the student if anyone is interested in the design. Cheers Adrian
  16. Hi, I'm a TAP (Total Aviation Person) Began with Keil Kraft and Veron rubber power in the early 60's. taught by my Dad who did control line team race in the late 1940's to fifties. Then did control line for many years, got in to R/C when in the RAF in the early 70's did most R/C, C/L and Indoor F/F disciplines in the RAFMAA. Left in 1983 to fly drones to the present day. Kept fit by running after my single channel planes after the rubber power escapement ran out of turns (Old hands will remember them well). Love scratch building, trying to get anything to fly, occasionally get some therapy on ARTF/RTF and will dabble with most things that can be made to fly. some of the most entertaining money spent recently was on a X-Twin bipe that survives and is great fun. Merry Christmas to all Adrian
