  1. Glenn, What timing!!  I have been thinking about a Vulcan for the past month or so - and then here you are.  I only fly EP, so depron is ideal.  If there is ever going to be a plan please let me know as this is going to be a must.  The only other Vulcan I can find in any of the model shops is 5' wingspan - wouldn't go in the car and is also a much more traditional build - not for me, unless there is nothing else.  Keep up the great work. As asked by Shaun previously - what power plant are you going to use? Peter
  2. Having done all the assembly and fitted the motor & esc the wires to the battery end up in the middle of the fuz and you can't reach them to attach the battery.  I read (somewhere else in the t'rific forum) to keep battery leads short.  Has anyone else had this problem and how did you overcome it?  AND where does the battery  and Rx go?  Peter
  3. You've got to be in it to win it - so I'm in - again!!  Must be my turn soon?
  4. Once more into the breach!!  Count me in.
  5. Thanks for all the ideas guys - certainly got the creative juices flowing.  Peter
  6. I need a really light weight dolly for a 48" EP mossie - I only trust a small number of members to chuck it for me!  The drop out tube types sound good but the wings are veneered foam and probably not that strong for this type of  set up - must be other ideas out there. I have no rudder at the moment - perhaps this would help for ground control? Pics or good description would be great.
  7. Fingers, toes and everything else crossed.  Peter Costello
  8. Looks and sounds great - missed out on all the lovely Xmas prizes so here goes.
  9. Someone at the club has got one - it's great - but pretty quickly becomees a dot in the sky!
  10. Gerry, Finally got maiden flight in (by instructor). Flew like a dream. The only issue was C of G - had to add lots of weight to nose. Loops and rolls (even rolling circles) achieved with no problems. Welgard 4000 mah battery fits really well into compartment and should give 10 mins +. Authentic camouflage and invasion stripes made it look great in banking turns. All I have to do now is to emulate the instructor!! Any more info required pls ask. Sorry about the delay but weather, hols and DIY got in the way! Peter
  11. Problem solved. Thanks for all the advice guys - quite a learning curve! Programming was the key. Shop advice (BRC Hobbies - thanks) was to reprogramme from default settings to: Outrunner, timings and finally setting max speed (my own idea). It was the latter that did the trick. I am glad this was the answer as dismantling to swap esc's would have been a real pain. Now 1 step nearer actually flying! Thanks once again for your advice. This really is a good forum for plugging into experience.
  12. I am building a WW11 Mosquito but can't get the motors to start at the same time. I have borrowed a rev counter and the second one starts when the first is at about 5000 rpm (4 clicks on tx). When at full speed the first is still 1000 rpm in front. Advice has been to disconnect one of the red wires from the servo (confusing signals ?) but it doesn't seem to make much difference. I am using seperate but identical esc's and motors. Any ideas?
  13. I am building a Galaxy model Mosquito (4' wing span)and although I don't intend it to be a true scale I would like decent Roundals/decals. Any idea where I can buy them from? Also where can I get the camouflage pattern from?
  14. Where do we stand on insurance?? and do we need an A cert or above to be covered?
  15. I have nearly finished the (cheaper) Mossie from Galaxy and having only ever assembled a foamie before it has been a real experience. There were a lot more parts than I thought - especially as the fuselage is blown plastic and the wings are venerred foam. Just doing the paint job and the last few electricals. I have had to have some advice & help from other club members but I have persevered and it looks the biz. I will update you on how she flies - probably 2-3 weeks ( I am not a fast worker!)
