Yip. It makes a very good electric conversion. Mine had a 650KV motor on 5 cell lipo, which was way overkill. 4 Cell Lipo will do nicely. I removed the top fuselage between the canopy and firewall and made this a battery hatch. The motor and battery need to be moved as far forward as possible. I later moved my firewall further forward as well. The Travel Air is a nice 'floater', and on a good, hot day, I could stop the propeller and thermal with the birds. Mine has since been converted back to IC and is my 'go to, i don't want to battle today' plane...

Just to say hello. I have been Rc'ing for about ten years, cut my teeth on helicopters but generally prefer planks now. I have a general RC modelling and aviation interest. I hail from South Africa, where Cape Radio Flyers is my home club. I generally read forums more than reply but perhaps I will chip in here and there...
