  1. Hi everyone, I have a Wot 4 foam E which I have bought a replacement wing last year but haven't yet got around to flying it (Ripmax WOT4 Foam-E Mk2+ - Wing with Servos) following an unfortunate impact with the ground. I have noticed that the replacement wing is significantly more flexible than the blue (mk1?) wing it replaced. Have they got rid of the wing spar to save money? I have heard about wing failures with these is this something that's been sorted with the more recent batch? My plan currently is to run thin CA around the joins between the top and bottom sections and a 2mm carbon rod top and bottom to sort out the flex. Just a shame I have to bother as the previous wing was really tough and until recently pretty indestructible. Guy
  2. If I could ask what control throws did you guys use for the elevator. I have built it as an all moving tail plane similar to Steve Jones's model. Also what position did you end up using for the Center of Gravity ? I forgot to record the original position before getting halfway through the conversion. will post some pics when done Guy
  3. Thanks for the advice guys. I will carefully overbend the wing as suggested before fitting the spar.
  4. Hi, sorry to bring this thread back from the dead but I have a couple of questions I have tried to straighten the wing with weights held flat for a few days and found that the wings just pops back to roughly the original polyhedral angle. Did you overbend it to remove the bend or use the spar to keep it flat? would the creases in the bottom surface not come out over time? Unfortunately I damaged the wing using a steam iron to try and straighten it as the the foam is less heat resistant than the stuff they use for the lidl model. I should have tried on a scrap piece first. I will be getting a replacement bolt glider for a second attempt. I have thought about cutting a slice from the topside and inserting a foam piece and gluing flat before putting a spar in, but that does seem less than ideal. Does anyone know what foam its made from as it doesn't seem to like standard CA unlike the lidl glider I have. I do have uhu por so will use that instead. Thanks Guy
  5. Has anyone got a copy of the plan or the august 1996 copy of radio modeller as there aren't any on ebay at the moment.
  6. Had to sift through quite a few front covers before I recognized the plan on the front. To think thats 23 years ago now - wow where does the time go?
  7. After some detective work, I have found its the august 1996 edition of radio modeller. The model is called jet 4 and its a chris golds plan.
  8. Thanks everyone for your suggestions, I think Alan Gorham has it, it was a simple slab sided easy build model He 162 in layout ie a IC ducted fan on top of the wing and fuselage with twin fins and a dihedral tailplane. I think the wing had a bit of dihedral as well. Its not particularly up to date, but more of a nostalgic project.
  9. Hi everyone, I am looking for a free plan that came with one of the model magazines during the 90's possibly RCM&E. It was a slab sided fuselage He-162 salamander style sport model I think called Hi-Jet with no under carriage. I think this might be a chris golds plan as I understand he did quite a few IC ducted fan models. I started the model when I was younger but never finished it so I would like to possibly complete it with a brushless electric ducted fan. Thanks Guy
