  1. Getting to the end of building my Radio Queen, what a tremendous kit to build. She is electric powered with a 3s LiPo battery. C of G is shown on the plan to be approx half way down the cabin. From experience, can anyone advise where I should site the battery to ensure that the C of G is where it should be, I know I can do this by trial and error, just asking. Thanks in advance. Keith
  2. Morning, Thanks again for all of your comments, very helpful. I now have the Futaba working as should, the Hitec operates the first model but refuses to go into link mode so can only operate with the first model, bit inconveint but will do for the time being. By the way, I did speak to Mike, thanks, and also Geoff at Perkins, both came to the conclusion that the module is faulty, Geoff gave me a indication of cost to repair/replace the module, so I now have options. I like the feel of the Futaba so may well go down the road of replacing the receiver in the first model so that both are on the Futaba, neater.
  3. Good advice Simon, thank you. Still havent resolved the issue with my Hitec Optic 6 Sport 2.4 ghz, all I am getting from Hitec is that it could be a faulty module and can't seem to find out how to repair or replace (it getting the feeling that because its a "budget" transmitter there is not much interest, maybe cost of doing anything about it would be relatively expensive??, so, if anyone has further ideas on that one please let me know.
  4. Absolutely spot on, all fixed. Thank you all for your input, I am much obliged.
  5. Hi Again, Bought a second hand Futaba T6EX 2.4ghz, lovely clean condition, along with linked receiver. I set up the receiver in my new model, which is unfinished, to test, switched on the transmitter, switched on the receiver and all worked as should. I read that when moving receiver to new model it is worth reseting the transmitter ref, say Modl 1, to factory settings, this I did and to my disappointment when I switch on as above the ESC emits a beep, then another beep with double beep, then beep with triple beep, etc etc, the transmitter operates the two servos as normal but not the electric motor. What am I doing wrong, any help gratefully received
  6. Tanks Denis I will give him a call
  7. Morning, Have been in touch with Hitec head office, they recon that the "module" is the problem. Can anyone recommend a person or company to go to to get this repair/replacement done. Thanks
  8. Ken, Yes both receivers are Optima, exactly the same. When you say Optima are different to bind, in what way? How far apart should the tx and rx be. Frank, how long do you think would be normal (to hold down the link button) Thanks again
  9. Hi Ken, Thanks for getting back to me, had a look through but can't see anything that helps. I have the manual so doing everything right, I think, confused by the fact that all works perfectly with the other model. I'll keep trying.
  10. I have a Hitec Optic 6 transmitter and have managed to link it to an Optima receiver in a model a few months ago, this I called Model No 1. I have built another model and therefore want to link another new receiver, I have called the new model Model No 2 in the transmitter memory. I try to link as per manual but the transmitter does not seem to want to go into search mode, when I hold down the link button and switch on the link indicator glows solid red, no flashing. Regardless of this I have switched on the new receiver holding down the link button and it does flash??? It would appear that I am doing something wrong but cannot see what, can anyone help, please. By the way the receiver in No 1 model operates as normal with the transmitter.
  11. Morning All, Joined the forum a couple of weeks ago, all very interesting and informative. Can someone please explain what the "set a status" in the My Friends box up on the right hand side means. Thanks in advance
  12. Hello, Interested in your ailerons, I posted a query about that subject earlier this week, I was asking for any details, sketches, drawings, etc, I did get plenty of useful comments but most were for leaving well alone, SO, the alteration to plan wing is easy enough but have you had to adjust the dihedral. Look forward to hearing from you.   Edited By Keith Orr 1 on 04/12/2019 07:21:37
  13. By the way i ahve copied your colour scheme David Davies
  14. Thanks again for all your comments. On reflection and bearing mind all comments I have decided to go with the original design, may make a wing with ailerons later.
  15. Thanks again for all your comments and advice. I am fairly new to RC aero modelling, so not a great deal of knowledge and experience, I starter about 15 years ago, built a trainer, it was by Chris Foss, and a Precedent FunFly, and another off plans but can't remember the name. I learned to fly at Bonchester Bridge near Hawick, flew for a few years then due to work pressured gave up and sold off all of my "stuff", daftest thing I ever did, I was IC at that time. I retired two years ago and decided to start again so bought another Precedent FunFly, but electric this time, looking for more of a building challenge I decided on the Radio Queen, she has been on the board for over a year, fuselage built, tail feathers built and just started on the wing, main frame built and thats when I saw the picture with ailerons, hence the query. This Radio Queen is electric, thats another learning curve. By the way, I have not actually flown yet this time round, must get organised.
