  1. I am amazed and heartened by the positivity. Thank you but I have already taken a razor saw to it, I did think of ordering another pack from Sarik but I would then have to wait two weeks. Obviously one benefit would be I had a spare wing. I don't need a notice as everyone knows my new catch phrase. Here is 'I can't see it at 50 feet' when I arrive at the field. Just joking. Seriously I split down the tail post and then could adjust the angle so that it is near enough not to matter. My only concern was how the angle of the fin would be affected. Never give up and onwards and backwards sometimes. Cheers Steve
  2. Hm This is why I was feeling down. Two days it took me to get it wrong.
  3. Just when I was feeling down, yet again you made me laugh. Thank you Peter.
  4. It's OK Trevor at my age a bit of nostalgia is good
  5. Lady Camomile seems appropriate for a bigger Miss Camomile
  6. Ah yes miss camomile I am speechless every time I look at her, so beautiful. Amazing!
  7. It looks like I could be adding another one to the list. Peter if for some strange reason some one wished to have a say 62" span could they just add an extra bay to each wing? Obviously if that is no problem there must be some limit or we would have infinite span. Ok it's a daft thought. The sun was out this morning, no rain and a light breeze too nice to stay indoors so I went in the garden and planted garlic. Now that job is done I can refocus on this build. Looking at the weather forecast though I will be tempted to go flying tomorrow. I will make that decision tomorrow. I really ought to get a SLEC building board now that the build list is getting longer. Has anyone found a cure for this addiction? There again does anyone want a cure? Cheers Steve
  8. Snakes So they are I must go to the opticians as I thought they were wing bands holding the tail plane on. Just as an aside am I correct in calling it a tail plane? Steve
  9. As you have cheered me up again here is a photo. They line up I think that's a good sign. The Engineer in me tells me that it is. Cheers Steve
  10. Ah Peter you made me laugh yet again.
  11. Geoff Yes I have considered that jig but I don't know if I will be building anymore models. I thought that with the Ballerina and here I am building another one. I was warned that building is addictive, hmmm mixed tenses there. So what I am going to do is follow your suggestion and buy one for when I start The Ohmen. Hang on I must be addicted oh no I do not need any more, I do not need any more. Well one more will not do any harm will it. Ok I have convinced myself just one more maybe. Cheers Steve
  12. No complaints here either Peter just observations that demonstrate my ineptitude. If I had spotted that one of the triangular strips was tapered before I glued it in place then I would not have used it and there would have been no problem. A simple case of inexperience. No problem really and I have learned a lot, which is the main thing. I have four formers and the wing bolt plate fitted. That has taken me two days. It's a good job I am not on piece work and that I have plenty of free time. I won't be taking on any commissions any time soon at this rate. Cheers Steve
  13. Now that I have found my phone here is a picture. Cheers Steve
  14. Yes they fit the plan But the formers are cut at a right angle so need sanding to the angle of the fuselage side. Then I found that the triangle stock varies along its length forming a taper towards one end. I got around that by adding thin bits a scrap packing. We are only talking in terms of 1/32". Are you shouting and swearing? As I said to the doctor 'it only hurts when I laugh but that does not happen often' Peter you do make it so much more fun. I have fitted one more former so I am doing well today Cheers Steve
  15. Thank you one question how long has the arrow been there as I have never seen it before. Yes a nice well cared for cat that has just got off the computer after typing the description.
  16. Matt where is the cat? I have looked at all the photos and can not see one anywhere.
  17. Very amusing description MOTOR GLIDER VERY GOOD CONDITION Very rare model. no 3 minute foam flights with this. STUDY PHOTOS CAREFULLY WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET Alerons for acrobatics Clearly the seller is no expert as apparently it does acrobatics. I tried that once and learned that they are not good at acrobatics especially cartwheels there again maybe this is special and different to my Riot.
  18. Peter you keep making me laugh which cheers me up not end, thank you. It's not the design it's just that I expect laser cut parts to fit perfectly and thought maybe others are of the same mind so I was making a point that could be helpful to others. 1955 I was three so I think I was a bit young to start designing and now too old Cheers Steve
  19. Dave you are welcome but all credit should go to ML as all I did was follow his lead. I have an IC powered super 60 that needs some work, as you know I am all electric and I can not bring myself to hack such a beautiful model about. The only issue is that it is three channel and the wings have been built with four channel dihedral. If you are interested it is yours for the asking. Cheers Steve
  20. So it's been a long day. I could not get the formers to fit so after a few attempts I gave up my only thoughts being that there has to be more to life than this. Of course there is, flying for one if only I could. Feeling totally down in the dumps suddenly it came to me. Take it all apart again, groan! not again!, and fit the formers individually to each side laid on the bench. With a little bit of trimming and a couple of packing pieces it all came together quite easily. So all of the formers are ready. I have put guide pins in and started gluing at last. Only two formers as these two will fit with the fuselage flat on the board wedged in the jig(?) Well the plan looks to be working, which always makes me happy If I wasn't tea total I could have a beer or two. hm the thing is I am not tea total as I don't like tea but saying coffee and water total just doesn't sound right. A thought occurred to me while struggling with getting the formers to fit. Why did I expect it all to just fit perfectly it never does. Making it fit together is part of the fun. Cheers Steve
