  1. Once lads car done ( brrrrr it's cold ) I will route out a period advert for the MK1 kit, slightly different to a mark 2.

No plan but from memory an instruction sheet....mine was 3 channel.....

They did a hi boy turbo as well...aileron with flaps but different fuz.....

  2. I hope you made templates of/for all the parts !

Mine was a MK1 3 channel solar tex and painted, heavy but flew well on new Magnum gp40 10 X 6, straight castor....

Flew the socks off it. Would like an unstarted mk 1 kit...

  3. Not that I want them in a glass cabinet, rather in a model screaming around the sky.

I get the feeling I will be wanting 20 size engines and below in the new year, glow rather than diesel due to fuel cost. Would prefer petrol.....

  4. Hi Paul,

I bet your your head is spinning a bit probably, and sorrow for your loss.

No one has mentioned places like Barton's control line forum for that sort of stuff yet.

Kiel Kraft etc. rekitted kits from the likes of vintage model company, j Perkins and mail order shops like SMC etc., which  would give you an idea of expected prices.....

Some research needed yet, yes, and there is always the likes of eBay.

All depends on what you want to do, the best more desirable stuff  will always sell first but the remainder will have a value, often with hidden gems in the collection.

Any incling of what your benefactor would have wanted will also have a bearing on your feelings and method of realising the collections *real" and deserved worth.

There will be a market out there for all items in this collection.

Again, sorry for your loss, take your time and do not be pressured.

  5. Hi robin,

Did not know about A10 or f15, both having relatively powerful "jet engines".

Yes, a paradrop must be "interesting" in the cockpit. The cargo roll time prior to leaving the ramp could be quite long, 15 seconds or so ?

But that aircraft would have all sorts of aerodynamic aides we can only dream off I think.

Tank, thunderbolt, p47 picture of one  flying with half of the starboard wing missing, kind of throws doubt on importance of c of g, for and aft and side to side....but I still thing if I made mine like that ( guillows r/p FF/ or control line, but will be made RC electric, and a sloper copy )t would only be airborne for a few seconds, 3 seconds probably.

  6. Wow is an understatement !!!!!

And this is the first cupboard, of how many I wonder ?

I have seen 3 models of great interest to me but would imagine I would be outbid, rich by name but cash poor...

Sir, could I pm you stating models of interest, no money sums mentioned yet preferably.

As stated I would most probably be outbid.

May I ask, any Cox stuff like td09rc, plastic stuka control    line ( with 100's ), pt19 worth many £'s, any Cox control line and engines.

Another item I have been trying to get for some years now is an unstarted precedent hi boy mark 1, 3 or 4 channel kit complete.

Some stuff will be very much wanted and desired, so people willing to pay...

Humble apologies if I appear cheeky or insensitive, I am not an ebayer or shop.

  7. Lucky escape Eric.

Perhaps a "Black Museum" or somesuch title thread could be started where "clangers" can be highlighted on new stuff, to inform fellow modellers before they part with thier hard earned cash ?

This might save a crash or close shave and possibly £'s....

What does admin think about this. Better than a report of an accident after the event, for forewarned etc...

    Proactive rather than reactive...

  8. Thanks for that Eric, at least your model did not go out of control or cartwheel on landing and end up as a kit again eh.

I refused to fly the 109, the third one sent to me, on "common sense" safety issue grounds. At least I could see the fault unlike your good self with a well hidden fault.

No glue on u/carr, missing glue elsewhere ??

Did the instructions say any extra glue was needed in the structure at all ?

Did you inform the manufacturer and or supplier about this defect at all ?

I could mention stuff like Toyota floor mats etc .....

Anyways thank you for your very informative post, I bet owners of the same model subject are checking Thiers right now !

Just waiting for a returns label email

I will start a thread titled "toprc bf109 mode 1... The saga continues....." when the model has been returned to/inspected by/ refund granted by Perkins and the great mail order shop I use.

The mail order shop has been great and so have Perkins to be fair, once they have seen the evidence.

Thank you rcme for showing the vidios which was proof

By the way, if the box says "this is not a toy" , and you try claiming the box contents to be a toy, for  what ever your  reason, the contents will not be classed as a toy, unless of course you know different.

    Please advise.....

  9. New out of the box, never flown, movement noticed when checking, not fit for purpose, waiting feedback from Perkins as mail order shop will need it.

This one is number 3, third time lucky, no ...

Should the purchaser "make good" a fault ?

    No.

Interestingly models in this series have been "modified" to mark 2 versions. I wonder why ?

More to come in up coming thread, "Toprc bf109 mode 1 saga continues ...".

  10. Hi Paul, may I ask please, am I safe in the assumption that if my foamy plane appeared at your flying site and was seen to show servo mounting plate movement as seen in the videos, vidio test thread, it would not be deemed airworthy in that state ?

    Over to you sir...

  11. A safety officer in my view would be a good idea as experienced eyes could look over your model etc. etc. etc., and give a basic "thumbs up" for the day's flying, subject to actual observed flying.....

The possibility of anti safety officer thinking could happen but if rules written into club constitution state safety officers verdicts must be obeyed, and you sign to that condition as part of club membership, then by joining the club you agree to club rules etc. etc. etc .....

    Maybe a safety committee.....

I wonder what the safety officer/committee would say about the servo Rx PCB movement seen in the vidio test thread ?

Paul de tour toulon, sir, what would be your verdict on seeing similar in vidio test vidios thread at your club please ?

Ok to fly or not ok to fly until fixed and re inspected ?
