  1. Terence Should that read 325 inches? Thats absolutely huge for a model, and rubber? Is it meant to be 32.5 inches?  Marcus
  2. Ah. Thanks Jonathon! I hadn't though of that.  I have no idea what the balance point should be.... 25% of the wing chord as a rough estimate? I did read that somewhere, but I'm not sure exactly where.
  3. Yeah, good point Jonathon, it is the Super Tigre logo!
  4. All right then.... Just to fit in I'll change the order Whirlwind Skyraider Lysander Partly because I remember an article way back in one of my old RCMEs about a smaller electric whirlwind and I think it is a nice alternative to the much loved Mossie.
  5. Well I'll get in first then! Douglas Skyraider     (65 size IC or electric) Consolidated Catalina   (2x 25s or electric) Westland Whirlwind   (2x 25s or electric)
  6. From where do you get a charger for 6 volt batteries? Can't find one anywhere...
  7. Because if you see my other thread then you will know. In short, big model, want more servo torque.
  8. This may sound like a silly question, but I don't actually know. Is it possible to runa 6 volt pack straight into a reciever instead of 4.8 volts or do you need a voltage regulator?  Thanks, Marcus
  9. Hi all. Some time ago, my Dad and I found this plane on E-bay and bought it for the sum of just £100. It is a very large 3D funfly type model but I don't know what it is called or who used to make it. It has a lenght of 67" (166cm) and a length of 67" (166cm) and is well assembled from computer cut balsa and is quite light for its size. It came with an engine, a Super Tigre 91 2-stroke and a tuned pipe These are the only two bits of writing on the models so does anyone recognise it from them? Oops, thats the wrong way round. We are going to use a Futaba 8 channel Dual conversion reciever with S3001 servos all round, but I wonder if they will be strong enough. They say you can use 6 volts to run them with increased torque but do you need anything special to plug this into the reciever. A special switch perhaps? Or a voltage regulator? Any help is greatly appreciated, Marcus
  10. http://www.protech.be Thats their website - On the subject of magazine ads, the EP aircraft in the march issue look pretty nice...
  11. I will change my vote for the C-119 to a vote for the Herky. I'd love a gunship version!
  12. My list of three: Lockheed Neptune (For IC but so that you can EDF Jet engines for extra thrust) Fairchild C-119 Packet (A twin boom twin engine cargo aircraft -The AC-119K Gunship was also jet boosted) And something Civillian. Maybye a Lancair, as they are fantastic looking aircraft.
  13. We have now fixed that darn jitter, but only by fitting 2 new servos and modifying the Y-lead. My Dad thinks it was the amount of wire that was causing it, something to do with the wire getting a positive voltage and it feeding back to the Rx lalala....
  14. Altough, I am now an Eco Terrorist! Its my birthday, and I have recieved a very nice hoodie and a Ripmax Wildfly. I do read the Bertie articles, but personally, the latest two haven't been clever or funny.
  15. I can't enter todays comp, the black ghost. It says I have alreday entered! However, it does say Day 11 on the top and so did day 2. Scripting error? Page 2 on the calendar is linked to page 11?
  16. Are any servos more prone to jitter than others?
  17. Yeah, the crystal is correct and we were standing next to it with the Tx. Re: Same channel:2 servos, they are on a Y lead. Everything else was fine though(Elev. Rudd. Thr.)
  18. My Dad has recently finished building a Ripmax Se5A and we've discovered a porblem. Ever since we took out the mocro reciever, and put in a dual conversion Futaba, the aileron servos (Tamiya Acoms As-16 s) jitter wildly in the central position. They're connected by a Y-lead. We've checked that its not that receiver, or that it is the aileron channel.  By the way, I flew it for its first flight last week. Does anyone else have one to tell me how it should fly? I found it wildly over sensitive and it didn't want to land into a stiff breeze.
  19. Oh good. I can't wait to find out what the 18th is. My Birthday!
