  1. Flying pics of my Adagio taken by David Ashby
  2. The engine is a NGH GT17 (petrol engine) with a JEN 60 Power Pipe, a combination that seems to work well. Prop is a G-Sonic 15 x 8.
  3. Posted by Martyn K on 15/12/2015 09:47:05: How was the colour trim done Peter? It looks very tidy I used Solarflim. The underside cheque is separate pieces carefully measured and cut to size (It takes a lot longer to do than if you just use one larger piece) I often mark and cut out paper patterns. One problem that I found was that Solarflim does not stick as well as Profilm/Oracover. I also find that an oilstone, to keep the knife blade tip very sharp, is a good idea.
  4. Pics of my Adagio which is as yet unflown due to the awful weather
  5. Posted by Martin McIntosh on 01/12/2015 22:02:33: On the models note, my first real aerobat was a Clipper which I have not seen mentioned on here. Cannot remember the designer but it was a Bulldog other than the long canopy. Don`t know who copied who. Keith Jones or the other guy. Hi Martin, I don't know if it's the same thing but I once had a Clipper 3 designed by Chick Holland. The plan is still available, the only problem would be the canopy. As I remember ( back in the early 70s) I used 3/32 balsa planking instead. It flew very well.
  6. Hi Mark, I didn't know that you were once a top power/aerobatics pilot, something else to talk about on the slope. I too, hope to attend one of the UKCAA event next year. See you at the next BMFA F3F.
  7. HI, so how did the Watford meeting go? I would have liked to be there but it was not to be
  8. Gents, are there any UKCAA events planed for the south of England? (Sleap and Skegness are a bit far north seeing as I live near Eastbourne) Pete B
  9. Glad to be of help. Another thought for you, have you any 1/2 x 1/4 strip balsa? if so then consider anti-warp strips top and bottom of the rudder.
  10. One question, why not use a steerable nose wheel? And I assume that you plan to razor plane off a bit more wood.   PS I would add a pic if I knew how!!! Edited By Peter Burgess on 10/03/2014 21:35:50
  11. The issue of rx swamping has been raised, 30+ years ago this was a problem but with modern equipement is this really so? what evidence is there to support this? I would be interested to know. 2.4ghz - Are there any swamping problems with this equipement? If you go slope soaring you may often find Txs in different areas (At some sites it may be necessary to walk back a quarter of a mile to the landing area, a walk that might take 10 minutes or more but the glider has to be parked in the lift which may be much nearer to those still flying on the slope. In situation like this I have never experienced swamping problems.  Pete
  12. Oh boy, I have really enjoyed this 'off topic' thread Well done chaps, very amusing
  13. Will these cells be offered in a 2s pack as according to guys in the USA they make an excellent Rx pack? (Good voltage stability and no need for a regulator) Pete
