  1. I’ve have a Laser 100 which I sent in for investigation after a crash, beginning of March. I spoke to Geoff 2 or 3 weeks ago and he said he’d look into it but I’ve not heard anything since. Could do with it back now.
  2. Ok thanks everyone, you learn something new every week with this hobby 😃 think I may have sorted it. Pinched Jon’s photo and I’ve cleaned up where I’ve ringed it in red. It wasn’t seating correctly in that recess, but now it’s cleaned and lubricated , it’s locking up nicely. thanks
  3. Are they easy enough to dismantle and check ?
  4. Actually thinking about it, this is what you’d want wouldn’t you. Pressure lost, gear dropping down 🤦‍♂️
  5. Ok thanks Jon If the left leg is locked up when the wing is removed and the pneumatic connectors are disconnected, it stays up. If the right leg is up when the air pressure is removed, it just drops down.
  6. When the pressure is low, they both lock down but the right leg can’t maintain the lock once it’s rolling along the grass.
  7. I’ve had a look for those Easun quick release connectors but can’t find any except at Alibaba. Are there any suitable alternatives? It’s the T connectors I need
  8. Hi Jon thanks for the reply. If I carry the Typhoon to the take off point it seems to hold better so it seems to leak more during taxi. The gear goes up and down no problem but if it gets low the right gear collapses during the landing roll. Pumped up to 100psi seems to last for one flight but not two. It’s a great flying model but hasn’t been available for about 10 years so spares are like hen’s teeth.
  9. I’m new to pneumatic retracts as I’ve bought a 10 year old Black Horse warbird. The removable wings each need connecting to a Down and Up T connector each time I fly and I suspect there’s a slight leak in one of the connectors which isn’t surprising as they’ve been in use for 10 years. They are Easun quick release connectors. Anybody know whether it’s advisable to smear the air lines with some sort of grease to get a better seal ? Thanks
  10. I’ve inherited a 5-10 yr old BH Tyohoon. The manual says 130mm from the leading edge. It’s obviously been flown quite a bit by previous owners and has quite a large lump of lead in the nose. I don’t really want to play around with it too much but when I tested it , it was pretty nose heavy. Anyone have this model and found the 130 mm to be correct?
  11. Just bought a fairly old BH Typhoon. As you would expect, there’s been a few repairs over the years but nothing serious. Just wondering if anybody knows the camouflage paint colours for this model ? There’s a dark earthy green and camouflage gray. Also anybody who’s flown this model, any nasty flight characteristics I should know about ?. I think the C of G should be about 130mm from the leading edge. Thanks
  12. Just fired up the Saito for the first time with Laser 5. Started straight away but loads of smoke and oil/fuel splattered over the wing. The needle valve was 2 1/2 turns from closed so I guess it’s firing too rich so I wound it in a full turn.
  13. All good stuff, thanks for your replies gentlemen.
  14. sorry Jon, what is the Saito normal stuff ? My Laser fires up straight away finger over the inlet and turning the prop a few times, do you prime a Saito the same way ?
  15. Ok thanks for the replies. So the standard laser 5 seems to be good for both.
  16. Just started with IC. I have a model with a Laser 100 which runs great on Model Technics Laser 5. Just bought another model with a Saito FA100. I really hope I can use the same fuel in both models ? , otherwise it’s going to be a bit of a pain , Thanks
