Strange how different models come out of this forum on this thread. My Waterhouse ans Ely Superfly was a great follow on from my old DB Mascot Trainer. Yes it did need the OS 40 FSR to get it going but what a delight in the air. So what if it did land fast, sharpened the reflexes and lasted for five years till I got over confident and did a gigantic Loo ----. (b*gg*r). Worse plane I had was a Dave Smith Saphir 60. That did introduce me to tip stalling and I never did learn how to turn it from downwind into wind for landing so it would land out of sight mostly after a brilliant flight of some 15 minutes on a Mutunuc 60 and pipe (remember those). Beautiful in the air and so smooth but - - - - . Follow that with a Flair CAP 230 and again couldnt land the damn thing except from 4 feet up and flop down!!! I fly from the top of a hill on the South Downs and the wind is really more suited for Slope Soaring due to the lift when coming in to land. Oh, yes, and a Thunder Tiger Extra profile thing that the covering would explode on with the slightest of brushes with fingers, tranny aerials and thistles. Oh how fun eh?

Oh, the plane is in fact french, designed by Michel Columban and first flew in 1973. I want one so I can teach the wife to fly in it (he he he).

Try "You Tube" and type in Cri Cri, a few there and quite amazing. Well worth a look. LMA have bigger models than that!

Having just spent the whole weekend there from Thursday night till 7 on Sunday, I must say that it has been the bestest show of the season for me. The Croydon club has got it right and as this was the fifth show at Hop Farm it has to be well established now.130 Transmitters booked in on Saturday meant 130 models flying from 9:30 to about 5:30 and I loved them all! What a treat to see all manner of planes, scale, 3D, Jets and some novelty, as well as the few Heli slots. Well done Croydon Club, I  will hopefully be there next year to meet you all again and to see all those wonderfull pilots, young and old alike, just enjoying our hobby. I will be looking forward to the photo's on the web site soon. Cheers all.

You may well be surprised dear Jetsome, throw out a challenge for a world speed record for electric control line and someone will at least take it up, maybe one of the Trade fraternity, like Overlander, or Thunder Power etc.?? How about tying a piece of string to one wing of one of those Voodoo thingies. Imagine that whistling round your head?? Some one must do it, please.

£40,000.00 to hire Sandown for the weekend, it comes as a package with security staff and food and bars etc. Add to that organisational costs, staffing and the biggie, insurance and you have laid out one heck of an amount of money. You have to attract one awful lot of peeps to cover that. Not that I mean the peeps are awful! I know the traders pay quite highly for their pitches and that is why, over the recent years, that a lot of the well know traders didnt appear, too expensive, hence the gradual downsizing until it just became too expensive and not viable. Shame, I do agree, as it was always the first show of the year and bargains to be had. I have spent much much "pocket" money there over the years. Sadly missed and lamented. RIP Sandown Symposium.

Adam, I can appreciate your concern about the noise but try to consider this. Noise tests will be taken with the model static and I am sure that the standard Zenoah installation will pass that ok. With regards to the plane in the air, you should have no problems either as the Hannibal is not "normally" flown in the sam way as the aerobatic CAP's etc where they use a lot of nearly max throttle and all of the throttle range, which is where you will find the maximum noise from all the air sucking! Not sure how you intend to fly your Hannibal, but I know once mine is in the air and apart from a few high wing overs and dashes along the strip, it flies at about half throttle and is more quiet than some of my fello members 61 glo powerd stuf at high revs. Go petrol, you will not regret it.

Or the O2 dome thingy??? (Was the millenium dome, remember that?). Plenty of room for Prop Hanging and Harrier landings etc. Thats what most of the show stuff seems to be about now) Not sure what you could do with the Jet engines unless someone came back with the actual Harrier (remember that even?)or Dave Wilshere brought along his vectoring jet? But hey ho, the weather will be fine come the middle of July and onwards, I have it in the diary that that is the beggining of my real flying year, when I can go to the patch two or three evenings a week and just relax, chatting and flying. Summer dreams eh?
