  1. Not my Dad it was my son that done it. He started with helis that got me interested and we both moved on to fixed wing and now do both. DB
  2. Hi Ady Sorry about that got your name wrong in my post. Apologies. DB
  3. Hi Peter Don't know whether this is of any use to you or not. I used to fly trick kites and some of the carbon spars in them were tapered and very strong. IIRC it was called Skyshark. **Link** Regards DB   Edited By DB on 29/10/2012 18:04:44
  4. Hi BEB, Absolutely painless and still walking if not flying in a straight line. Looking at what Steve has posted above I realise that mine does exactly the same thing. When entering through the main forum page it takes me to the last page as per preferences, but from latest postings link, to the first page of a thread. By the look/sound of it it's something to do with the way the website is set up so don't worry about looking any further for me. Thanks to everyone for their inputs we have to have something to do when the weather is so abysmal that we can't fly. Cheers DB   Edited By DB on 26/10/2012 16:23:09
  5. BEB, Thank you. Never been emulated before. Glad I have to be logged out as it sounds painful DB

  9. Hi, I seem to have a problem with my account preferences within the forum. When clicking on a thread,on the front page, it always takes me to the very first posting. I have changed my preferences in my account to go to last posting but to no avail. I know I can click last when I get to the thread but I don't want to scroll to the bottom of the page to do that. Can somebody sort me out please. Cheers DB Ps Mrs DB says I need sorting out
  10. Just to let you know that if you are near Ely in Cambridgeshire on Saturday 29th September at 1.45pm there is a fly past of two Spitfires. It is for a reunion of personnel who were at RAF Hospital Ely. DB
  11. Hi Chris, Thanks for that and sorry about the link. I had read the tutorial a while ago and it slipped my aging memory DB

  13. It's not very often your right, but that's right, your wrong again.
  14. Hi Craze I learnt the hard and expensive way of going it alone. If I were you I would find a local Rc club who have heli instructors and do it that way. If I was starting again that is what I would do. If you look on the BMFA site you should be able to find a club near you. They will also be able to help with the dark art of setting up the infernal beast to fly correctly. Good luck in your endeavour it is a really good feeling when you get your first controlled hover and you start to move on with more difficult stages of flying. I don't think I will ever get good enough to fly inverted but enjoy hovering around and being able to fly around fairly confidently. DB
  15. Hi Craze I have had a Honeybee in the past and if I were you I would buy a new tail boom. Also if you have not got them get a set of trainer legs they will save you lots of money and grief. One last thing see if you can find someone who can check your heli out for airworthiness even though they are small they can cause quite a bit of damage if not correctly set up or maintained and as you say the tail boom is cracked there may be other problems. HTH. DB
  16. Just to add my thoughts on the Orange rx's. I have used them in all my RC kit which includes a 450 and 500 size helis and also my three fixed wing ST MX2, Ultrafly Yak 54 and ST FW190. My son also uses them in all his kit and we have never had any problems with them. They seem just as good as some of the Spekky kit although people will tut and shake their heads knowingly when they see them, funnily enough though they do seem to find there way into their kit, so they can't be that bad. I do use a satellite with them all but that's me being belt and braces anyway. Regards DB Edited By Dennis Broughton on 01/08/2012 18:33:26
  17. I have noticed on the HK site home page that if you go towards the bottom on the left hand side you are given the option to change the currency from USD to GBP. However an item does not show up as GBP until you click on it for a detailed view. HTH. DB
