  1. Learned how to DS my M60 a fortnight ago and have been bitten by the DS bug so channelled my glider funds into a D60, havn't got very far tonight as I don't have an end mill tool for my dremel to grind out the slots for the control horns. But apart from that very impressed by the build quality of this model, it is very tough as I have struggled to cut through all that carbon!   Shiny!   More shiny goodness   All bits supplied by slope racer for that full combo package   Hyperion DS095FMD for the wing   Aileron / Flap horns and linkages supplied, these components are a little more heavy duty than I'm used, but then again this model can go over 300 mph in the right conditions, 333mph is the current Joe Manor record, I'll be happy with over a 100 mph for now   Waiting on that end mill tool as I've spent a couple of hours trying to file a slot in the ailerons and they are rock hard with carbon, so will bide my time for now.   Tom @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  2. Ron is a great teacher and was kind enough to let me drop into the DS circuit and fly with him for a couple of laps @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  3. Ventured South to the Peak District yesterday and met some great guys who taught me how to DS, its a lot easier when there is someone there to teach you, enjoy   @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  4. The roads must be a lot longer in your neck of the woods   Penrith gives you access to the West Lakes, you could go to Keswick and fly Catbells or Latrigg. Both good sites and easier to access than Ingleborough, you can even DS off Catbells.   But to answer your question it is a big walk, so unless you're super fit you're limited to a couple of lightweight 60" models or one big 3M mouldie, landing area is small but you get big wind up there. The last part of the climb up there is up a shear face up rocky steps, think Lord of the Rings, steps to Mordor - I kid you not. But if its not covered in clag (which happens a lot) its a fantastic day out, but if the conditions are light be prepared for Paragliders, there are more of them than us Slopesoarers in the North West   Next time your up give us a shout if you want to meet up to do some flying, we normally use different sites for different wind directions.   Tom @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  5. I can see Ingleborough from my office window where I work in nearby High Bentham, Paul actually lives so close to Ingleborough he can see it from his living room window, great for checking if its covered in clag (which it usually is). My ambition is to fly all three peaks, Ingleborough, Whernside and Penyghent all in one day, but will need some excellent flying weather to accomplish this   Tom @import url(http://www.modelflying.co.uk/CuteEditor_Files/Style/SyntaxHighlighter.css);@import url(/CuteEditor_Files/public_forums.css);
  6. Shot some more footage of the M60, enjoy
