  1. Started on the wings proper yesterday. OMG nothing fits nothing is the correct shape. Drastic measures are called for. As my club pal Cyril kepps telling me "its the wing that flies the bloody plane!!!!!", which of course, he is right. So can't afford to build 2 duff wings let alone 1. Anyway back to drastic measures. Spoke to Richard at Falcon Aviation. He is a brilliant chap at cutting stuff out from plans. (He did a major rework on my General Western Meteor-but I digress). Sent all the plans off to him yesterday and he and I will talk at length over the next few weeks about him doing me a set of wings that will fit together. I gather he has on file 4500 plans which he can cut for you. So build on hold for a while but I'm sure we'll get on track soon.   Edited By cymaz on 07/12/2012 09:17:24
  2. Today built some wing rib doublers out of ply left over from the die-cut sheets. Thought this would be a good idea to add some strength around the servo mounts. Roughed in the tail wheel which fits nicely and will just be covered with a small piece of painted litho plate. Edited By cymaz on 05/12/2012 10:50:05

  4. I got some rigging wire and brackets from Mick Reeves. Hopefully it will add some nice detail though nothing structural.
  5. The lower cowl bulge.....umm....I could cut it out and have the hole left as an air exit to aid cooling. Rather have that than an overheated engine
  6. World Models Spot On 50..great when set up properly. Got an OS 55AX in mine, super plane 10/10

  13. Thought you all might like to see the half completed tail section. Just some sanding to do and put the doublers for the closed loop rudder to do. Once this is done then I will put some blocks in for the tail struts. Pictures to follow
  14. To save building two cockpits, I will cover the front one with lithoplate and make a hinged cover for it. This will be somewhere to put the remote glow. Like this John, be prepared to modify the falcon undercart by shortening the front brace arms, adding brackets on the fus formers etc. But I expect you knew you had to do that. My Falcon undercart came with the tail wheel bracket, hope yours does.
  15. GOOD NEWS...POSTMAN HAS JUST BEEN The lovely people at Aeroteam in the Czech Republic have done brilliantly again....
  16. Today roughed up the elevator and stabiliser with the Robart 3/8" pin hinges. I do the holes before the final sanding so the holes don't move. Also I have the Robart drilling jig which makes things so much easier. The elevator joiner is also roughed in and fits well. All hinges line up well The control horn should be well hiddenin the fuselage but we'll see. Lots of down, no binding Lots of up too
  17. Yes it's an old kit. Some of the wood is even off sized !!!!!!!!!!!!! But Percy Verance will be on hand. And I will get it finished and it will fly...promise
