  1. I've always enjoyed all kinds of modelling even as a kid but once into RC, migrated into boats as the more "sensible" option, not wanting to take a busted pride and joy home in a bin bag ! Then last Christmas my wife asked me what I wanted for a present. I said an Electric Plane would be good, I meant one for the odd bit of wood butchery I do now and then. Christmas morning arrived and I unpacked a Foam bodied Spitfire Park flyer The rest is history. It was my Birthday the other day but did not tell her my old Jig Saw was knackered

    Fuel line cutting

Needle file on the sharp edge, surgical spirit to clean and thicker walled tube has cured the problem. Cheers all.
  3. Thamks for that Gary, I mentioned to the better half that I will get one next payday and she expressed an interest in having a go. Who knows I might just have to get her a real (model - in case she reads this and gets ideas,) plane as well !

    Fuel line cutting

I thought the same, the second piece to fail was longer than the first.
  5. Cheers David, next on shopping list !
  6. I have a brand new out of the box SC46 and have twice had the same failure on this engine. The small length of fuel line between the needle valve and the carb has cut through on the nipple as the pipe comes off of the needle valve. The first instance caused a Deadstick landing on the models maiden flight, the second happened after about 10 min's of taxying set ups on the ground (sorting nose wheel). I have replaced the fuel tube with a thicker walled piece than the original and carefully filed the square edge of the needle valve nipple as this may have been cutting through from the inside but I am still not confident and do not want another Deadstick. Has anyone else come across this problem ? Does anyone have any suggestions ?
  7. Ivor, Can you select mode on RC Plane Master ? I have been thinking of getting this as it just about fit's my budget, too much month left at the end of the money
  8. Hi Jov, I think you should have your own section on the forum to show wives / significant others how to do it Spot on, I'm sure hubby is going to appreciate the effort you are putting in.

    Hello

Final update in this post, I only came in to say hallo ! My trainer took to the air yesterday, club instructer at the controls but still a very satisfying feeling Small problem with the nose wheel giving right turn on taxiying(sic), although it ponts dead ahead ?  nothing a little left hand bias won't sort out. Slightly larger problem, the instructor was putting it through it's paces, loops , rolls etc but realised as he was going to go inverted that the power was fading so came in and had to land deadstick perfect landing all the same Found the small (brand new) fuel line between the needle valve and the carb had split. Maybe I had installed it a little too neat , (short, though it covered the nipples at both ends) ? Possibly beaten to death by the screw in the end of the fill pipe, although I would have thought that would have been pushed rearward in the airstream. I replaced the fuel line and the instructor altered a couple of the rates on the Tx, getting ready for flight 2 and hey presto a stonking great hail storm End of flying for the day. Right, we have put the clocks forward to Summertime, will someone please turn it on !

    Hello

Update again for anyone remotely interested All bolted together, radio installed and tested to the best of my ability, been working in the shed and garage every spare bit of time Iv'e had getting the plane and my super modified tool box / trolley / plane stand (?) built and mighty pleased how it all came out, worked right up till late Saturday in the hope that the weatherman was going to be wrong 2 days in a row (he got Saturdays forecast wrong in my area) but ............well you geussed it, Sunday morning and Snow. Feeling very deflated as I really wanted to see it take to the air (I know it will be someone else giving it the maiden) but hey that's what I expected. Just starting 7 night shifts so it's going to be 2 weeks away before I might get to the club field. Just hope it's good weather !!!!!!!
  12. Eric, Hate to be pedantic but that is an oxymoron " T5 baggage system & run" ?
  13. Richard, Try going to the radio manufacturers web site, there will be a good chance that you will be able to download a manual, I did from the Futaba site.
