  1. Hi Did you get the c of g correct in the end.... I have just acquired a bh ultimate and at the present, I am reinforcing the front end for a 26cc petrol. I have read reports that the instructions state that it is measured on the bottom wing yet illustrates it on the top wing....
  2. Plug another nihm pack somewhere into the rx... usually some speed controllers are without BEC...
  3. Going Lipo is a definite for longer life and more air time. Because of the internal built in charger, it is an easy cheap add on if you get a Garmin satnav charge adaptor off eBay for just over £3. This has the same plug as the Dx8 , the conversion is easy, so just open the adaptor case and piggy back solder the wires on its circuit board which allows the LED to still function when plugged into your car cigarette lighter socket. You can then charge your Dx8 whilst driving to the field with an easy quick plug in facility.
  4. Does anyone have a licencee on their committee, if so! What is the strength of his command over the committee and does his title give him freedom to make solitary Club decisions.
  5. I think so! Since I upgraded to the Dx8, I am finding a lot of useful gizmos additional to the lower models. ie servo slow and custom timer. Not forgetting dsmx..... all in all, it has ticked all the boxes for me...
  6. Can-Doo looks interesting, although i dont know why i feel a compultion to build a Depron Biplane version. Just looks like it should have another wing on top... mmmm! After all, a couple of evenings in the workshop and test on the third. Should have the decalage and new c of g worked out in time. Oh! and 4 ailerons of course.. Yeeeha! Might call it CAN-DOO-BI Edited By Factorywriggs on 12/11/2013 20:36:33
  7. I have a few Club vacancies for anyone living in the Shropshire or Midlands area. We operate from a 105 x 55 metre top class flat field. Mowed during the flying season on a weekly basis by a contractor. Club house / car park / gravel track to field from main road. Operational 356 days a year, with flying times from 9am till dusk every day. Engine size limited to 35cc on petrol sized models, noise restrictions apply .. If interested, please contact me here.
  8. Hi Martin I too believe the success in handling this model lies in the weight and set up. I have the tail wires to add next, so using acetal nuts and bolts and carbon rod instead of the steel as per original. Choice of balance will be 6mm forward from plan and surface movement will have exponential dialed in. I have seen many aerobats plummit in because the c of g is set rearward. Big models are ok but small and heavy is not so good. The ys63s is light and powerful, also very smooth and fits within the cowl on its side without cutting holes for the head. Hope everything goes to plan with her.... Test flight scheduled for some time in December or early next year.
  9. I would be interested to hear from any current owners of this model type either past build and flown or presently flown. As this is a classic kit build, i am lucky to come across this one in such fine condition... I have found the free plan on "outerzone" , which was very helpful, as i had no idea of what was original and any modifications that procured from original design. The pdf was saved to a stick and the plans were perfect to scale.
  10. Thanks Chris I will try this out later!
  11. Can someone give me the technique for throttle mixed to throttle on the Dx8, for safe leccy throttle safety linked to one of the switches. I have had this explained for many tranny' s ,but never got it to any level of success.
