    once more into the breech into the valley of death rode the 600 so count me in as I have decided to go all electic so this would be good or starters

    do as I do and that is to put the head in a lathe bore and tap it to 10mm useing a first tap and dont take the tap right through and then run a 10mm die down a piece of brass rod heat up the head and loctite the rod and screw in as tight as possible and leave to cool cut of the rod as close as possible to the head place the head back in the lathe face off the rod and centre it and bore it 7/32 machine it flush and tap it out 1/4 32 tpi Iv' done that many times for the boys in the club and i aint had any complaints yet ive even done that to a cox 049 but not with a brass insert

    hi Simon if you are interested my sea fury which has an ex chain saw engine in it i use a coil f rom a scrap 25cc grass strimmer the coil is housed in the recoil starter frame if you remove the coil and then remove the armature (that is the metal strips in the centre of the coil) you can then cut a square piece of plastic to mount it and it works fine on a 4.5 volt batt but you must use a condenser if you use the points I use this coil but it is linked up to a home made CDI unit so i dont need a condenser

    what about wheels I purchased 2 wheels from BQ for my 77"Sea Fury (and it weighs 25lb) for £1 a wheel and if you want to see them just look on my gallery and you will see them on my Sea Fury and they are still on it

    I made my starter from an old motor bi ke starter i found that the standad starter was not powerfull enough to turn my lar ge petrol engines so i adapted a motor bike starter by adding a train of epiclycs on the front of it other wise it was to fast
