  1. Ist law of thermodynamics:-  Energy can neither be created nor destroyed. It can only change forms.   This means that it is impossible to gain energy by splitting the water and then recombining it.   Nothing can be more than 100% efficient.  In fact, very few things can even approach 100%.  If this thing does work then it is not the energy from the water itself that is doing it, or putting it another way, the water is not being used as FUEL. Plummet
  2. You could always make one.  Its not difficult. That way you can make it as you like it.  (In my case, big enough for a fat bloke.)  I made myself a brightly coloured fleece for maximum visibility when commuting on a bicycle.  People only laugh at me sometimes. Then you can have whatever you want embroidered on it.  There are plenty of stock aeroplane piccies already converted into embroidery patterns.  Have a look in one of those tee-shirt and workwear shops. Plummet

    Diesel v Glow

A question about using diesel for RC.   What about the tank height and fuel pressure?  With glow engines you usually use exhaust pressure to pressurise the tank, so as to permit fairly constant fuel pressure as the model is thrown around the sky. I understand that it is a very silly idea to pressurise the tank with a diesel, as the exhaust is hotter, and the ether in the fuel is more inflammable.  So how can one ensure a consistent engine run with an RC diesel.  (Or am I wrong?)  Plummet
  4. I was suffering very slow access.  I have greatly improved things, but the management wo'nt like it - I have blocked the animated adverts on the rhs of the sceen. I use Firefox on my oldish, slowish laptop.  Firefox has an addon called Adblock - which is my friend because it blocks loads of annoying repetative irritating stuff.  Plummet
  5. Well I have been doing a bit of research.   I discovered various possibilities in tables of acronyms.  BAL = Blood Alcohol Level     SA = Swansea postcode or  BA = Bachelor of Arts,   LSA = Light sports aircraft  B = Second Grade   ALSA = artificial life-support apparatus So balsa could be a measure of welsh drunkeness,  an artistic aeroplane, or a poor quality lifebelt.  Hope this helps - (but somehow I doubt it). Plummet
  6. My penorth...  I would strongly recommend aliphatic glue.  Yes, it does take time to set, but this also gives me time to spot my mistakes.  White wood glue is OK, except where you have to sand it.  It goes rubbery, and resists sandpaper, so I find that trying to sand off excess glue dribbles results in removal of the surrounding wood while the white glue residue juts wobbles back and forth.  The aliphatic glue sets harder, and sands off tidily. For mending the odd crack or weak joint then the more fluid super-phatic glue is good. Plummet
  7. North and South 'ampton? What an interesting name, amp-ton.  I think this calls for another survey about if there is a surplus of electric flyers in the 'amp-tons. I know,  Shutup Plummet
  8. I recall being told that you just stretch a piece of ptfe tape over the exhaust outlet from the engine, and then locate and fix the silencer on.  The tape still covers the port.  Then, when you start it it will just blow out the unwanted bit.   Never tried it.  At your own risk! Plummet

  14. I am building an old  Cirrus Moth kit at the moment - although it is a slow build - I want to make a good job of it and I want to build up my skills before I make a mess of it. I have always loved Biplanes, and somehow the deHavilland aircraft just look right. Go on.  I deserve it! Me Me Me - Please. Dave
