  1. Far superior to ANY Deans! http://www.hobbycity.com/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7182
  2. When using the Insert Link button, after pasting the address into the pop-up properties box, clicking OK or Cancel causes the page to freeze and the only option is to shut down and re-open  modelflying.co.uk.
  3. I did have the Message, Ignore and Edit buttons but now they are gone!
  4. Bert wrote:  I don't care if you call me a 'killjoy' in fact I don't care what you call me, but I don't think it does the hobby any good to publicise the antics of these irresponsible people on what is essentially a public forum.    Anyone casually browsing could come across this on here and think that all toy aeroplane enthusiasts are as stupid as this bloke. IMHO we get enough bad publicity as it is. I don't need to see these people on here, I know it's amusing in a horror movie sort of way, but we all get tarred with the same brush. (rant over) The amount of hits this site gets is miniscule compared to YouTube, from where that video originated. Watch any aviation related video and you will be offered the chance to see some prat wreck a model. There are literally thousands of similar videos to the one above.
  5. Yeah, that motor was "pretty powerful" just look what it did to his plane!
  6. The best way to describe it is "Quirky"
  7. OK so when you edit a post you need hit refresh after you click Save Changes
  8. Jimbo Click the button second from the right, next to the YouTube button and it will bring up a list of files in your album(s).   Rob
  9. Quote: b) Hanging them off the props! I'm sure Bruce meant he hangs them from the Prop DRIVER. Any force applied to a prop, over a period of time will distort it, leading to vibration and possible failure.
  10. WHAT A DUMBASS! Flying from the road and then piles it into a picnic area. A good job there was nobdy on those benches. He knows he's got a problem but still continues to fly and crash other planes!
  11. As above, I hang the fuz's on the wall, I.C engine up, electric motor down so the nest together better. Wings are stored on a homemade rack consisting of two vertical softwood battens screwed to the wall with lengths of 12mm dowel glued horizontally into appropriate sized holes, worked out far cheaper than metal racking.
  12.   JB I found this video, the wheels are infront of the leading edge and no ground handling problems.
  13. Doug You can get it from  Overlander
  14. One of my favorite aerodynamics sites. See How It Flies
  15. The ebay description should give you the following basic information that will give us something to go on: Inrunner / Outrunner RPM / KV Wattage Weight How would you best describe the above? Scale / Warbird Sport / Aerobatic 3D Hotliner
  16. Richard When you launch your Sky III does the nose point upwards before the plane comes down. If so try launching it level or even pointing slightly downwards. If it then gathers speed before pointing skywards again you need to trim in some down elevator.
  17. Thanks Danny OK, next question. What is the power rating of your PSU? The largest I can find is 150W, and I would think if you tried to pull 22V @ 10A from one of those it either curl up and die or just shut down and refuse to play . Thanks Rob
  18. Danny How do you limit the charge current to 10A on your set up? Rob
  19. Hi Doug The ceramic magnets with plates as shown on the Airfield Models site are hard to find over here. I ended up buying a bulk pack of magnetic cupboard catches from Screwfix, their double catches contain 2 magnets each at a reasonable price. I bought 100 ceramic block magnets from Guys Magnets, but they now have reduced their range to novelty items. A quick Google for "Ceramic Magnets" turned up Cermag Ltd who do block magnets in bulk at reasonable prices. Despite what it says on the Airfield Models site, small rectangular Neodymium magnets can be epoxied to the base of uprights to provide a very strong grip but only requiring a small sideways force to remove / reposition them. Another source I have used is e-Magnets but you can buy them cheaper on eBay. Good luck in your quest, it really is worth the hassle! Rob
  20. Get down to your nearest Auchan and buy a load of cheap electric heaters. When your next electricity bill arrives you'll dragged back indoors!
  21. Hi Mike That looks better! The map just looked wrong without it. There used to be a toy shop in Newport that stocked a few kits, but I cannot remember what it was called, if it still exists.
  22. Just make sure the clunk cant get tangled up in the pipework. Iif you dive fast enough the fuel will be effectivly weightless, so it won't come out!
