  1. Timbo you're slipping! How about a nice 2 cell LiPo? For the same size you could go to 600 to 800 mAh.
  2. How I would do it. Unless you are in a deadstick vertical dive fuel cannot escape.
  3. Also checkout: Replikit Mostly old time models but some scale. D.B. Sport and Scale The great Boddo's work available in quality plan packs. Belair kits A vast array of part kits - At a price!
  4. Don't forget: Flyingwings Ltd 44a Tickford Street Newport Pagnell Buckinghamshire MK16 9BJ Tel: 01908 615163 [email protected]
  5. I always apply one well thinned coat of dope which raises and seals the grain followed by one or two coats of sanding sealer, sanding in between as necessary. When I am happy with the finish a final coat of dope to give a gloss finish and then flat it down with fine wet and dry. Any dings etc then show up as dark glossy spots. I have never had a problem with dope dissolving the sanding sealer, just slap it on and let it dry.
  6. You need to add: Maple Models 57b Aylesbury Street, Fenny Stratford, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire MK2 2BH A well stocked traditional model shop.
  7. I was merely pointing out that for just a few more £'s you get a lot more ESC!
  8. I have a selection of beech engine bearers left over from electrified kits which I stick sandpaper on. As john says very handy for those hard to reach spots.
  9. I don't think I'd want a burning block of charcoal in my flight box, thank you!
  10. Although they are described as 15C, according to the spec they are only rated at 10C continuous, which will limit their use / lifespan.
  11. The extra 10A would give you a bit of headroom to contain the magic smoke!
  12. This has hapened before, I am hoping they will be back up today.

I second that! Happy New Year.
  14. Or for that slightly more macho look try a one piece nylon motor cycle suit, one with a quilted lining. Just about the warmest thing you will ever wear.
  15. A picture might help to narrow it down a bit!
  16. I must admit that since getting a decent flight sim, desperation has not forced me out into the extreme cold.
  17. Just to remove any confusion! Taken from the 55AX manual.
  18. Gents One point to remember is that the Power 46 is only rated for 5 cell LiPo and might get a tad warm on a 26V 8 cell LiFe, Merry Christmas Rob
  19. Sorry to hear that Kevin. I stood on the slope checked the controls and then chucked off my 1/5 scale ASW 17. I watched as is it did a three-quarter loop and tent pegged behind me! If it's any consolation you probably won't do that again as you tend to double check that the control surfaces point in the right direction.
  20. Jon I too have been pondering A123s as an alternative power source for an Acro Wot! It's all getting a bit mind boggling! To fast charge two 6 cell A123 packs in parallel at 20A will need a charger capable of around 600W. The largest I can find are 300W so 2 will be needed. Or use one to charge for twice as long. To power the charger for up to 4 charge cycles will require a battery of at least 50 Ah capacity (allowing 25% for heating the flying field) So to add it all up, 2 X A123 6 Series 2300mAh. .£132 2 X i-Charger 1010B plus. .......£240 1 X Leisure battery ......................£60 Total. ...........................................£432 Add on another £30 or so for shipping and 4 X 6S1P 4300 Lipo's from Giant Cod for £360 start to look attractive! Rob p.s. Or how bout one of THESE?
  21. Dusty My point was that two motors running at 80dB each would result in 81dB. A twin would not be appreciably noisier than a single. Having said that 81dB is a bit tight even for some electrics and the full size 337 is noisy so I don't envy your task.
