  1. I was a country member back in the '80s, left the fraternity to do other things, then joined again in 2008 and would you know BMFA still had my mem no. and details, what about that for service.
  2. Has no one any ideas what this aircraft could possibly be?
  3. Posted by Richard Sharman on 01/10/2011 18:57:19: Nice to hear of at least one Lysander that lived to tell the tale ! At our local flying patch one crashed, one ground looped incessantly, and one has never taken off.  Come to think of it - what has happened to all the others ? I note that in the Autumn 2011 RCME special page 10 Tony N says that this was the most popular plan of recent years, and that "hundreds of CNC packs were sold" ! So, where are they ? Do we have massed Lysander fly-ins ? A Lysander challenge cup ? We should be told ! Mine ROG got to 30ft wing stalled to starboard, straight in. Analysed the crash afterwards could not find anything wrong....................wont be building another one.
  4. Please, please keep the thread going, I am sure that someone somewhere will recognise the A/C.I have shown the photo to all my modelling friends and none of them can identify it.
  5. Posted by David Davis Telemaster Sales UK on 28/11/2010 08:15:20: No sense of scale here Twilight but if it was powered by a McCoy 35 I'd say it must have had a 5-6 foot wingspan. (1.5-1.8 metres.)   Had it been smaller I would have guessed the Keil Kraft Ladybird on account of what appears to be a radial cowl. If I recall all those years ago it was about 5-6ft span, carn't remember anything about a radial cowl though. Th A/C flew very well as I recall and it was flown at the disused airstrip at Ta-Qali, which is now the resident airfield for the twoo model clubs based in Malta.  I do hope that the modellers in Malta may see this request and hopefully reply to it, thanks in advance. Ray
  6. Posted by Stephen Grigg on 25/11/2010 20:25:13: You Microlite looks the same as one in our club, your Sports looks like a Caterham 7,Your Spitfire looks like a Spifire  and your mystery model reminds me of a Super Scorpion, have I won a prize Sorry Steven, no prize this time!
  7. I remember it as a kit, and the kit was bought from a model shop in Salima(Malta) owned by two brothers. The photo was taken at the rear of our accomodation block.
  8. I built this aircraft in 1961 whilst serving with the RAF in Malta and for the life im carn't put a name to it, can knowledgable modeller help?. You'll have to excuse the wing as just as I had taken the shot a gust of wind lifted the port wing.PS  It was a freeflight model with, I think, Mcoy 35  up front.
  9. Thanks for that one, is there any more views out there?
  10. Anyone had dealings with  Saito FA65 4 stroke engines? any views warmly welcomed.
  11. Thanks guys, yes you are quite right Bob,it has foam wings, flies brilliantly off the slopes. The a/c is about 20 years old, I've stripped off all the old covering and it's still in good shape.I have a couple of motors around similar to your motor spec so I think I shall do my sums and see what I can come up with. I shall endeavour to post my findings and maybe a piccie or two. Thanks again. Ray
  12. Hi everyone, I am thinking of electrifying a Pheonix 100, can anyone suggest a good setup for this model? thanks i anticipation.
  13. 1. I fly mode 22. I now live and fly in East Yorks 3. I first flew in Malta in 1962 and that is where I taught my self with a 2 channel glider.
  14. Found this on another site and thought that it would be useful to other builders.   http://alamorad.startlogic.com//IncidenceGauge.PDF
  15. Thanks for that guys, but do these mufflers pass the 82Db test as our club is quite stringent on noise polution.
  16. Hi everyone, can anyone say what they think about BCM mufflers as I am building a Tiggy and want  an incowl silencer rather than the original hanging out side the cowling.
  17. Sorry Timbo there is no voltage at the other two wires and I have no instructions nor do I have the make of the item, I guess I shall have to experiment and see what happens! regards
  18. Hi everyone, I was given a set of on board nav lights and found that I can connect a pair of wires up to a 4.8 or 6v Nicad and all three lights work, albeit green , red , clear  and a 10mm led, the small led's are tiny. Now then there is another pair of wires coming from the small electronic block and I have no idea what they are for. Is there anyone who could enlighten me as to what they are for?
