  1. Ok Tim I've done what you suggested and the same thing happened straight to full throttle, so I decided to bind the trainer transmitter to the plane and as normal the orange light come on to show the bind ok but I heard nothing from the esc then after about 15seconds we had a few beeps so I took out the bind plug tried my control surfaces all working then when I tried the throttle nothing at all then suddenly the plane went to full throttle and wouldn't cut off, and yes to those reading this there is no propeller fixed to the plane. So I rebound the plane another twice on the same channel and it worked throttle working normal, attached the other transmitter now at slave and that worked ok, I then went back to putting the dx6i dsmx as master so we rebound again attached the other transmitter and all is now working, so I really don't know what's gone on, could the be an esc problem or a software problem in the one transmitter, safety in mind still leaves me with an element of doubt that this could surface at any time and wounded wether to scrap this dsm2 transmitter
  2. Open or closed the throttle is fully open I've even tried reversing it, I was hoping it could be as simple as that
  3. I have a spektrum dsm x and a spektrum dsm 2 I am using the dsm x as the master and the dsm 2 as the trainer, the problem I've got is when I hold in the trainer switch on the master transmitter the throttle on the plane goes straight to full throttle and no matter what I've tried I can't resolve this issue, all the other functions work as normal but full throttle remains on, I've tried another dsm2 transmitter and that works fine, I also rang horizon hobbies and they could not answer my problem and referred me to horizon USA which I've not done. Any thoughts, Richie
  4. sam iam glad you picked up on this thread not only can i use this prop on my racing corsair but youv also pointed me in the right direction of what prop to use on my pattern ship, they dont tell you in manuels to ues pattern props i only came across them by mistake
  5. so what is a pattern prop used for
  6. can anyone tell me the difference between electric and pattern props, i have a 11x12 apc pattern prop can i use this on an electric model cheers richie
  7. ok simon and david it looks like ive been led up the garden path on this one with a computer buff saying it could not be done and people at the field say they had to be both wireless, but guss what they were all wrong, i have been setting up a dx6 that has wireless program installed with a dx5 a dx8 and a dx7 the only thing to check once its done is servo direction, last year and this year when we had jackplug issues we were told it could not be done but with you speaking so possitive about it i thought its time to test and i wish ide done it last year it would have saved a lot of problems, thanks to you both for putting things right
  8. You can only wireless buddy if both transmitters are wirelass compatible dsm2 dose not automatically make them wireless. Unless i'am missing something with te technology try your dx7 simon and let me know
  9. yes david the dx9 is wireless i put it in wrong place incerting text the dx6i and dx8 and old dx7 are not wireless
  10. Simon iam sorry miss type the dx9 is wireless the dx8 and dx6i are not wireless
  11. hi simon the new dx6 has the wireless or wired function available dx8 and dx9do not have the wireless function so only compattible dx6 can do this, but there is a problem with the new dx6 draining alkaline batteries, the owner of this latest dx6 has been intouch to say when he got home from the field tried a new set of batteries to try with his phoenx flight simulator and the batteries drained within 20 minutes so there is cleraly an internal problem with some of the new dx6
  12. hi william i did notice a fully charged lion battery drop to 7.8 after one flight but they seem to stable out at that for a long time before they start to fall plus i do believe they they need 10 plus charges before the battery is fully conditioned so it may improve with time
  13. theres no reason why you cannot put the turnigy lipo in the dx6 as long as you have a way of charging it,and at £12 a big difference in price, i use this one in my dx8 and charge in situe but you cant do that with the dx6,
  14. it just been pointed out to methat weve had four dx6 in our club with the same issues jack plug and battery problems,no one can tell me we are the only ones with problems horizon must be aware of these issues surely
  15. just a thought william but have you changed the settings in the transmitter to lion from alkaline
  16. i have been involved with three dx6 radios all with the same problems september last year alkaline batteries running down while connected to a buddy lead leaving my studant with no controll over the plane, after safely landing and further test the same thing happened again with new batteries, that resolved its self when we put a lipo in place of the alkaline batteries, now in the past week a new member to our club turns up with a brand new dx6 where it was connected to a dx8 via buddy lead and the dx6 would not excpt a buddy lead (jack plug issues again) so flights cancelled dx6 changed to a new one the following day, a few days later with new dx6 in hand i set it all up only to find within 15 minutes the alkaline batteries went flat as before tried a second set this time with a different transmitter dx9 and the same thing happened the alkaline batteries run down completly while connected to a buddy lead ,this week i have spoken to horizon who tell me they have not come across this problem before,i did ask if it was possible that the master sets were somehow draining the alkaline batteries but they wernt sure without tests, horizon after sales service is second to none in my book always helpfull and you can talk directly to them but from what iam reading from the posts there are serious issues with the dx6 so why has nothing been done cheers richie
  17. Hi you are so right to in 17mph wind i didn't even take my acromaster out of the car but a fellow flyer flew his seagul boomerang and it flew all the maneuvers need it only the last 40ft the plane got knocked a bit by the wind
  18. Hi graham this afternoon a friend of mine flew his hanger 9 puls 60 then my acromaster and there was no comparison the acromaster came nowhere near the puls60 and that was all down to the wind on a good day the acromaster would do fine so i'am going up a scale or to. To what i still dont know. Iam lucky enough to have two examiners in our club so that in it self will calm the nerves when iam ready
  19. Hi pete i take it he passed you i'am all electric my wife cant stand the smell of the fuel
  20. Hi pete i take it he passed you i'am all electric my wife cant stand the smell of the fuel
  21. Not a problem mate nothing negative at all i value all comments just flew my acromaster in quite strong wind and its all over the place very hard to keep a smooth routine so need to go bigger with a bit moore weight a friend of mine has just flown the hanger 9 pulse 60 and there was quite a difference i can see why they go for the pattern type. I thought the weight limit was 2kg
  22. Thanks for your input jon appreciated
  23. Hi again jon to be fair i think the wot4 should not be used as i think its such an easy plane to fly makes the test easy and i'am not looking for that i want a plane that you need to work with and improve your skills. Looking at the routine itsjust an a test flown with all the rough edges improved on with a couple of extras thrown in. I think the wot4 can mask little problems you may have in you're flying(thats my personal opinion) so i dont think it will make you a better flyer so iam going down the road with somthing a bit moore challenging that will also improve my flying
  24. Hi brian i was first told that foamies were not allowed but it seams they are so as you say my acromaster should be fine if the wot4 can be used then i dont see why not. Iam at our fiels now so i'am going to use the acromaster and the routine needed and there's a stiff breeze so lets get started cheers butty
  25. Thanks martyn sound advise like all other replies
