  3. thanks eric thats very clear and understandable, timbo on what you done to your slope soare is it possible for me to modify the wings of my easy star to have alerions or will i create a problem

I read with intrest jim newman's article on flaps in the may issue of rcm&e, every time i see a model landing with the use of flaps ( and that's not many i must say ) but  to me it' gives the model that extra bit of class, it's something you don't expact to see. but i am confused? jim if you pick up on this thread or anyone who can help please reply. i am just putting my new easyglider together only to read in the instruction manuel that both  ailerons can be deflected up simultaneously in order to provide a "spoiler" funcion to shorten the landing approch, and at the same time use a small amount of down-elevator. yes i know that a true plane has both ailerons and flaps but with the easyglider you use the ailerons to get the same effect, but why are they defelcted up and not down as normal flaps are, sorry but this has confused me, i am going to use the spektrum dx6i 2.4ghz that allowes for mixing for this to work happy flying richie p

  7. have you seen these things go, if not check the video out on www.goflykite.com has anyone out there got one, if so what do you think, i was given information on these this week, they come from singapore and  are normally flown at night as they are lite up like a ufo, they are quite somethng to see.made from carbon fiber, polyester & high quality nylon joint parts, there are seven models to choose from, and flown in winds up to 15knots they have a 7.4v 900ma or 7.4v 1300ma lithium polymer battery and fly for up to 45 minutes and up to a  distance of  3000ft (1km) i have e-mailed the company and as yet they are not sold in this country but you can import them, now the hard bit they are around $650 singapore dollers that's £270 plus p&p which also includes a futaba 4exa transmitter and receiver,  paired with brush or brushless motor and micro servos, plus a usb lead and simulator to practice on your computer. happy flying richie p

  9. Hi to you all out there, i am new to this and from what i've read i will join te BMF before i fly. I have finished putting my easystar together and have the CG  ok , but have found by using lipo batteries i find the all up weight is 610g and the Manuel states it should be 680g will this make any difference. many thanks richie
