Hi Ron
I had Isimilar problems with my 200V I found the fuel was the problem ,it had been in a container with a small split near thetop .Methanol is hygroscopic (absorbs water) so the fuel had excess water .Why it only affected one cylinder I don’t know but it did

A mate collects old engines .He says that the rubbish that didn’t run fetch the best prices .So you may be onto a winner value wise

It’s not just modelling stuff that’s overpriced I have been looking at classical guitars of late .Many buy it now prices are more than the new UK price ,as are opening bid levels on auction items . It doesn’t make sense to me

I second the cyno method it has worked well for me in the past .You can even use cyno to wet the cloth /mat instead of resin if you want a quick job .The important thing is to use the correct resin, epoxy won’t stick to polyester

Hi Jon
A 50/60cc single would be good if you could price below Vlatch .I would go for a glow but I suspect Most would prefer Petrol .There are a lot of large models with narrow cowls and few 4strokes in the required power band

Hi
I have a Dennis Tapsfield chilton plan which shows wheel pants attached with springs running inside the pants hooked to the pants and wings .I haven't built the model yet but it looks a good method .I had an artf geebee a few years ago with the spats hard mounted ,they got tatty quite quickly on our grass strip

Hi Merco
Why not use a hard case lipo on your starter .I use a Just engines geared job with a 4 cell lipo mounted on an Ali bar attached to the starter .Its light has no dangeling wires and starts Laser 300 twins zenoah 62's etc with ease

It's not particularly safe but I use an end mill in my pillar drill

Being a chemist I know there is no law of conservation of volume . To make 10% oil content put 100 ml of oil in a graduated container and make up to 1000 ml with fuel . Concentration is always quoted in amount per 1000ml of solution So Manish is correct

The black would look great in a stearman maybe with just the heads black . Money for a 360 is burning a hole but the model isnt even half built yet

Hi Dave
I built one about 20 eyears ago .You don't need much inf o if you have built something similar before .If I remember correctly there's about 1/2 inch dihedral at each wing tip and c of g at 25 to 30% . I converted mine to a tail dragged as I hate trikes. Construction is simple most parts are to shape you just have to shape the front to suit your engine .I had an OS 61 in mine which was plenty for vertical performance

It must have been frezing at middle bridge today . Looking good on hover now is it the same set up as the successful flight?

I'm an examiner and that was a pass for me .The figure of eight wouldn't be good enough for a B though

I never had a problem running Moki engines with nitro in the fuel .They just didn't nun better with nitro so economy prompted me to use straight fuel . I agree with Mike T about the indent as a starting point but the 3 engines I had didn't run well with with the indent and the line on the disk in line

Moki carbs are very fiddly to set up and the O rings in the slow running adjuster need to be in good nick .Just engines used to keep the rings .The slow running adjuster the knurled disk pulls out replace the O rings and put it back .Then run the engine on straight fuel without too much oil .I used model technics duraglow . Set the main needle for max revs then fiddle about with the slow running disk until a good transition is achieved .Its a very fine adjustment so keep fiddling until its perfect . It should be reliable now!!

I maidened a flair pup years ago with the c of g in the plan position I still remember the flight !!! .The BE looks very tail heavy .Rule of thumb on a staggered wing biplanes is 25 % of the chord on the imaginary centeral wing .Which is a good match for the position recommended i.e. The front cockpit position

I have an early Laser 150 in a 1/4 scale extra 300 I got the engine at a swap meet very cheep due to knackerd bearings .I replaced both bearings and the old girl runs a treat .It has a ST carb and single bolt rocker cover so I assume it's at least 20 years old . It drags the extra around really well giving fully aerobatic performance

I managed to escape from the water industry after 26 Years in 2001 when just turned 50 when the Industry started to get impossible .I retrained as a teacher (science degree) . Having a pension from the water years I have been a freelance supply teacher since qualifying . Teaching full time is horrendous, any long service teacher who is on a high pay scale is under constant threat easpecially in an academy system and work life balance is much in favour of the school. Holidays are for planning and making sense of the constant reforms imposed by the DOE . I don't envy the current generation at all

Hi Robert
I have a Laser 240 on order for a sig 1/3 scale spacewalker I didn't go for the 300 due to the physical size of the 300 in the cowl .Is it a good fit?

,I have just striped a saito 180 which was run on Weston pro synth it was a bit of a mess to say the least . The bearings were in a shocking state with rust and the crank case was full of crud
