  1. Hi MaxThe Magnattila wing is built in two sections over the plan and later joined with ply dihedral braces to become a permanent one piece wing with LE dowels and rear bolt. The Puppeteer build is exactly the same - each of the two wings is built in two parts as before and again joined with braces.  They're both excellent flyers and well worth the effort!
  2. Hi againI've just downloaded the latest versions of both Firefox and Flash Player (as suggested) and still no joy with the latest 4 vids - all the others play OK !! Edited By Tim Mackey - Administrator on 03/08/2011 23:44:01
  3. Hi SteveExactly the same result. It seems to be only the latest 4 vids that I can't see - the others earlier ones are OK .
  4. hi lucaDefinitely fully synthetic - used it for ages - good stuff.
  5. Hi GBBuilt a Vortex about 20 years ago and still fly it! The only thing to be aware of is the position of the tow hook for bungee launching - mine had to move rearwards about 2 inches from that shown on plan. It should be 1/2 inch forward of the CG.Also make sure the balance is spot on, including lateral balance - a couple of panel pins in one wing tip did the job. With a latex rubber bungee I can do almost vertical take offs and have had many flights over 30 minutes from a flat, coastal site. An excellent performer. Can't help with the decals tho' - too long ago.
  6. It's still taking 30+ secs to do anything - good job I'm retired !
  7. Found a Prontaprint shop less than 10 miles from home ! (Why didn't I think of that?) Can make several pages to any size for about £6 - £8 (less than the cost of printer ink) so the job's a good 'un. Many thanks for the pointers.
  8. I've been searching for some time for PC (Windows) software to enlarge a plan from a single A4 sheet to about 60" span printed onto multiple A4 sheets. Some time ago Julian Beckett mentioned such a thing in a review but left no other clues. I've tried Google's Picasa but it only allows fixed ratios and is not really suitable. Page 99 April issue shows just the thing! Any and all advice most welcome.
  9. I've previously posted a request for help but probably in the wrong place so can I have another go ? In the Stunt Monkey article by Mr. Beckett he mentions FREE software for tiling large files onto multiple A4 sheets. I've been after something similar for ages with no luck so can I take advantage of his research and persuade him to part with the info ? Copious thanks in advance.
  10. In an article in May issue Mr Beckett describes FREE pdf tiling software found after a longish search on t'net. PLEASE tell all as I've been looking for something similar for ages with no luck.

  12. Thanks for the info Mr. C.  It's many years since I last flew power - it was a Mills75 diesel! Can you tell?
  13. I'm installing the fuel tank into a Pulse XT (not yet flown) and would welcome comment.  The tank is rectangular with 3 tubes - clunk feed at the bottom of the bung, the filler and pressure fed vent at the top. It is mounted horizontally with bung to the front and clunk sitting on the tank bottom where it can move freely but cannot turn back on itself. My query is: if the aircraft is fairly horizontal all should be OK but a vertically down manoevre (stall turn, loop etc) with a half full tank will put the clunk pickup above the fuel level. Will all such antics result in an engine dead with fuel starvation at a bad time? The models at my club field don't seem aware of this and just get on with it - how? Any comments / explanations are much appreciated.
  14. Evenin' all, I've recently returned to model flying after a ten year layoff while playing with my Rans microlight until a lost medical put an end to that. Previously I flew competition open class thermal soarers for about twelve years but dodgy knees and advancing years make power a much better bet so I'm putting together (can't say building - not as I remember it) a Pulse XT. Hopefully it will all come flooding back !! If not I'll face the challenge head on as the politicians say. See you around the forum pages...
