  1. This is far as mine has got so far. I like to make a kit of parts before comencing the build.   Good luck with the maiden. I think the wire idea may add to much weight to the tips but may be worth a try.   Keep me posted.
  2. Hmmmm.   Was this information forthcoming?   This information would be nice, as I have just decided to build one..   Have had the plan scanned at the local print shop. Makes building so much easier when you have 2 copies to go from. One to build on and one for refference.   Have you flown yours yet?
  3. I had one in my Ripmax 40 trainer sa well. Nocked the front one day as I was putting it in the car. Both sides of the mount broke where the rear bolts went through it. Not sure if I had a duff one with a stress fracture or something else. Rplaced with a nylon mount and 7 or so years later it still flies.
  4. Ooops...   Should have read..   Did the maiden today. This is one seriously fun little plane. After a few initial problems with the engine, plug and correct prop size, there was nothing left to do but go fly. Thanks to all the people at Diss RC club who helped out. One lent me a prop of the correct size and a new OS plug. The great thing about this hobby is the way people help each other out. I am not going to say it flew with only a click of trim coz id didn't.. A full dose of left trim was required on the ailerons. That will be sorted for the next flight. I was flying (or so I thought) on low rates, and it seemed a bit lively. A lesson to be learned then. Always double check that you have set up duel rates when required. So gentle inputs required for the rest of the maiden flight. If you remember I built this from the magazine plan which had a small error in the tail incidence. I guesstimated at the amount required and got it correct as level flight was bang on the money into wind. If you don't have one go build one..
  5. I used the pullout plan aswell, but plans, cowl and canopy are still avaliable from MyHobbyStore. Link on the left of the page.
  6. Just built one.   Cowl and canopy still avaliable.     Edited By Kevin Fairgrieve on 21/03/2009 19:10:23
  7. Having just finished building a Mini Jazz, it does bear a resemblence.   Altyhough the tail does not look quite the same.
  8. I am not going to bore you with the build as that has been covered elswhere .   All I have to say is.........   WOW !!     Edited By Kevin Fairgrieve on 21/03/2009 18:48:37 Edited By Timbo - Moderator on 21/03/2009 19:26:51
  9. David   Went to Slec today to buy some wood for my latest project. The great thing about them is that they let you into the warehouse (mill) and let you choose your own wood. Get just the grade you want. No one else to blame then. Also picked up a few other bits and pieces. Also it was good to see the staff packing boxes of Fun Flys......   And it was nearer 40 minutes...but hey.
  10. Do Slec still sell from their factory unit in Watton, as its only 30 minutes away from me,and  I dont have a "local" model shop as such.
