  1. Too true my friend. My wife didn't take a second glance at me putting together the mini yak yesterday but I'm sure she would question a great big turbine model and motor ha baz
  2. 1st thing required Ben is very deep pockets. I don't know a lot about turbines but I do know that it will cost you a little more than your crack yak mini Baz
  3. Been tonight from 5.00 until just after 6.00 2 x 8 min flights with Pushycat 3 x 3 min flights with Radjet extreme 2 x 5 min flights with Crack Yak I can't wait for the lighter nights baz
  4. You probably wouldn't fit. It's only 2m x 2m and full of planes baz
  5. Haven't got a shed, got a workshop with a small lcd tv, heater, stool and magazines etc but waiting for some bits to dry baz
  6. Watched 5 minutes of that tosh on itv while the wife made a brew and I honestly would have smashed my tv and sat in silence if I'd had to watch another minute ha. Thank god for a 90 % full sky+ box baz
  7. Posted by Stevo on 14/03/2015 13:31:49: Anyone starting out... here's a complete package... Not sure about the reserve, though. Edited By Stevo on 14/03/2015 13:32:13 It's already been one once and finished at £160 baz
  8. I'm wanting to install a Frsky DIY 2.4 module in to a Futaba t9cp super with a switch to select between 2.4g and 35m as I did in my 7c but I'm struggling to find any instructions towards this due to most people just changing the actual module on the rear. I still fly on both frequencies so wanting the one transmitter to do both without having to keep changing actual module. baz

    FrSky hack module

Yes cheers gonzo I know that. I will be installing the module in to a tx that will be used for both 2.4g and 35m changeable via a switch so I don't want another switch on the tx body for telemetry. I also know I can wire it up so it is always off without the switch which is what I'll do if have to get newer one. Was just hoping someone had one lying about.  Baz Edited By brfc7 on 04/03/2015 10:10:26

    FrSky hack module

Bump. I was sure there'd be someone with a V8HT that they had took out of their transmitter as replaced it with the newer telemetry version. Baz

    FrSky hack module

Has anyone got a fully working V8HT non telemetry hack module they no longer require? Got another tx I want to change over to 2.4 the same as current one. baz
  12. Two 8 minute flights with my pushycat this afternoon at BVRMC all alone but I'm not surprised as it was way too windy really but I'll fly in most conditions if I have some spare time Baz
  13. I have the exact same motor deal in my Candoo that I built at the end of 2014. I bought the gear in November and have to say all the wires are fine. The only problem I have with the motor is the 2 grub screws that fasten the motor to its mount keep loosening even with locktight applied to the threads and this is noticed when you can actually hear the motor vibrating all over the place. baz
  14. Was at BVRMC 2-5.30 yesterday. 10 members their with about 7 flying. It was like a summers day when I arrived with 5mph westerly winds and lovelly warm sunshine but by the time I finished the wind had turned to a southerly at 15mph and occasional drizzle. Managed all 6 batteries with Radjet so about 30 mins with that and sneaked in a 8 minute flight with my Pushycat just before dusk, that hasn't been up in a few months since I got the radjet. By about 4 their was only 2 of us left and we were treated to a Hercules doing low level circuits on landing approach to Newcastle airport. Baz
  15. Looking good Ken, hopefully see you at the field with it soon, on a better weather day than today It's got me stuck in the house with the two bairns and I can't get any modeling done with them about baz
  16. Been out today (Friday) I got my Great Planes Venus 40 out of the loft yesterday and went over her and fitted a newer battery as I probably haven't flown it for nearly 2 years. It's fitted with an Irvine 53 that starts and runs great every time. I really enjoyed the 3 x 7 minute flights I had. Hoping to get plenty air time in with it as I'm wanting to do my B certificate this summer. Also flew my Candoo for about 2 minutes before it decided to stick it's nose 3 inches in to the ground after failing to pull out of a loop. I had full up control on transmitter and it just went straight in. I'm thinking with it being a canard and flat sheet wing also 15mph winds it just couldn't pull itself back out of the dive. Not too much damage just a bit of rebuilding around canard where it twisted baz
  17. I contacted CML to see if they could help but unfortunately they said the size of esc is just a little sticker stuck on to the heatshrink that has obviously fallen off and they have changed design since this one so couldn't compare it to a one they had in stock. My mate is currently turning his workshop upside down looking for the box and instructions but he's sure it will be 40amps. I could still do with knowing the setup procedure so if anyone has one of these esc's in any size could you please help me out. Cheers Barry.
  18. Cheers for reply Scott, as said in OP it comes with Topgun aftf's from CML Distrubution but they have 4 different sizes - 12 / 18 / 30 / 40 amps. Plus the lad I got it from says he defiantly bought it separately, so must have come as a spares to one of the artf's. I'd guess it's either the 30 or 40 amp due to the dimensions stated in OP. Looking for someone who has one really so can measure up against theirs and hopefully tell me how to program it as would like to be able to turn break on and off. Thanks Barry
  19. Can anyone help me identify what amperage this esc is and direct me to some instructions to help set it up? I didn't get any details for it when I bought it 2nd hand and it doesn't say anywhere on its case what Amps it is. All that I can find on the web is that it generally comes with artf's from CML. Here's what I know - Topgun park flite esc 6-10 cell NI?? 2-3 cell LI?? 44.5mm Long X 28mm Wide X 14.5mm Thick (with what looks like a decent size heatsink) 14 AWG silicone wires Roughly 38grams Thanks Baz

  21. Great program, I like how he hinted towards a second program when he goes back to pick up his bike. From Goa to Grimsby. Baz
  22. Posted by Masher on 08/02/2015 08:39:10: Anyone fancy a risk? Acrowot I was wondering why it would be a risk first thinking due to the description being poor then realised where it was been delivered from. Baz
  23. Can all depend on how many members are their and how much gossiping goes on. If there isn't many it will probably be about 2 to 3 flights an hour and if their are a lot their down to 1 to 2 flights an hour. Even then a lot of the times I turn up with a small electric model and can't be bothered to get it out of the car ha. Baz
  24. I actually found a bargain for a change. I ordered an APC slofly 9x3.8 propellor for £1.99 incl postage. It has arrived next day as they sent it in a padded A4 envelope first class signed for. A quick check online and the postage was over £2 plus envelope cost etc 😄 (Ps I know I could probs get one cheaper at a shop but it would cost me £5+ in petrol their and back) Baz
  25. I've never been a HH customer so from the outside it all looks very strange. I can't understand why they would offer you a brand new set after saying their is nothing wrong with the original one but I guess this is only a good thing. And then to not tell you the new one isn't in stock and will be a few weeks before it is Not to mention all the hassles you've been having with trying to contact them. All together very strange. Hopefully it all gets sorted soon and you'll have your nice shiney new tx to set up. Baz
