  1. Just to let you  all know , did a range test on my 2no 6 channel recievers, got to 100 paces before glitching, and with the range test button realeased i had full control back . It was the same result for both units I am impressed with them so far but would not put them in any thing but foamies. As for the CE marking,  our old 35mhz  recievers didnt  have a good track record for safety, look at all the models lost through interference and shoot downs or other user errors did that effect your insurance?

  3. Sounds better for $100 but if you are in the euro zone i would check the exchange rate as i think its not a good time to pay in euros
  4. Looks good and has good reviews if you havent got a spektrum tx it might be worth a punt but by the time you have paid postage and got it through customs is the price the same as a ready to fly msr(£116.99 from some stores) Had my msr for 6 days and cant stop playing with it much to the cats annoyance who tends to get the grumps as i hover around her just out of reach Edited By simon kenny on 25/05/2010 19:43:47
  5. Already have a DX7 so i think a msr would be better over the sr as they seem to be pretty stable, can fly helis ok on my sims but you tend to forget that all those crashes if in reality would start to cost some serious cash, thanks for the advice
  6. Hi as its my birthday soon i have convinced my other half that i need a heli bought for me ,and have been looking at the blade msr, is this a good heli to buy as a first try as i can already fly those pico z things with success and can at least hover a heli on my flight sims (aerofly and g3.5) or should i go with the blade sr as a first thanks
  7. But why does it buzz (or hum whatever your noise is) louder with a 1900 pack than with the 1500 pack?
  8. Just googled buzzing DX7 and found this Hi guys, Probably a stupid question, but do DX7 tx's make a buzzing sound when switched on?! Just received one, and after its switched on, it makes a low buzzing noise, which diminishes if i press the bind button on the back. Is that normal? My DX6I never made any such noise.....   Thats just like mine, when you press the bind button it goes quieter
  9. Have just bought a second hand DX7 and notice it buzzing away when powerd on, if I put my 1900mah pack in, it buzzes even louder any ideas why and is it some thing to worry about ? Voltage about 11.7 on both packs Ps my JR 2720 also buzzes but you can hardly hear it even with tx to your ear
  10. What i meant was that the 2 motors look  similar and as they are going in almost the same airframe it might be worth comparing the 2 ,only bought 4.7 gram servos from cod and they have been fine in my light weight foamies but i get your point about the larger ones ,i only buy good quality ones from hitec or jr for my larger airframes as trusting a 3 quid servo in 300 quid airframe seems a bit of a compromise  but as for the motors ive bought from them they have allways been of good quality not up to axi maybe but the equivalent is another 70 or so pounds and the one in my funtana although only run on the ground seems smooth an powerfull and swings a large prop with authority in fact the reviews on giant cod seem to point to a motor which is more powerfull than in the manufacturers spec, but as i said we all choose our gear pays our money and hope we get good quality, one more thing found the lipos on cod to be very good as with my set up i only drop 1 or 2 volts on full load wich is much better than some other makes  ive tried, good luck with the conversion let us know how it flys
  11. Paid £30 for my motor from giantcod seen the same motor on another uk web store for £68 are you paying for quality from the first or last, dont get me wrong you pays your money and takes your chances but if you look at your hobbyking motor and look at the e-power motors tell me what the difference is?
  12. Converting a funtana 40s to electric sourced all my bits from giant cod (4030 e-power motor ,100amp  esc and  2 x2250mah packs to run at 22 volts) 17x10 prop pulling 46 amps and my watt meter says over 1kw as I am getting near to the max current the batts can give going to double up to 4 packs at 22v and so 4500mah yet to try  a prop with the larger battery all up weight should be under 6lbs  look at the prices on this site you will be amazed at the low cost
  13. My favorite is the quite brilliant Battle of Britain with the Dam Busters and Reach for the sky as runner ups but I am a sucker for all WW11 films and every one should watch Band of Brothers at least once even though the Americans seem to have won the war all on their own
  14. I make all my indoor models from free plans downloaded fron the internet just google for free ones you will be suprised at the number of good ones there are you can print them onto a4 paper and tape them together all you need is a sheet of depron, carbon fiber and some glue ,build as light as you can . RC Groups have loads of plans,or build the Ballerina from the free plan!
  15. Last sunday was a beatifull day for a fly, so i said to the other half  im off to have a quick one ,so offski i go to  load the car with mini katana in one hand tx in the other and a pocket full of lipos, put tx on car roof  while threading plane carefully on to back seat, lipos on passenger seat . jumped in car and off we go, got about a mile down the the twisty lanes to my flying field when i remember as no doubt youve already figured ive left the tx on the roof of the car so with the gut wrenching thought of turning round to find the tx in a few well run over peices somewhere back up the road i stopped the car and checked if by some miracle it was still there, and you know what , it was ,it had slid across the roof and wedged under the foof bar of my focus estate ! what a result so now not only do i have to do a pre flight check i now have to do a pre drive check to.
