  1. Looks really nice for £99! Looks nice regardless! Will you add doors to the legs? It would look a whole lot nicer on the ground. Good luck!   Sheldon
  2. What happened to the end of my last post....?   Anyhoo... got back from the shop today with a massive bag of Balsa.   Here is my 3-step tutorial on how to cut wing ribs in large quantities, quickly and easily:   1.You will firstly have to cut a template out of 1/4" ply(used for all ribs).     2.Using the template, draw around it so you can keep it in the same place easily.     3. Cut around the template.   And...         Tadaaaaaaa!     The finished rib.   Me looking (fairly) contented with th build... so far....   Fus sides started.   All 20 ribs and 2 sub ribs cut out, each with a couple of 4 mm holes in so air can flow through whilst covering.   I used a glue stick to tack glue the plan to the building board, covered the gluing areas of the plan in wax, tack glued the spars down, and set about with the ribs.   Ribs added and top spar added.   L.E. added.   That's all i've got time for. Update tomorrow.   Sheldon

  4. Hi all. The Uno-Wot has been put on hold for a couple of weeks as in order to finish it, i need to got to my dad's, and he is away for a couple of weeks. Plus i have nearly run out of fuel. So... while he is away, i have a project: If anyone knows the PeTe 66 or PeTe 10, this is very similar. It has a flat bottomed wing, with the rear of the fus made up of framework. For anyone who only builds ARF's, if you done have the time, that is understandable, but if you're excuse is 'my home build will never be as nice as my ARF', then that is NO excuse! Firstly, you're first model might not turn out like Colin Hammond's lancaster, but you get better over time, Colin Hammond would have started off like that no doubt. Anyways, the model is designed for a Speed 480 and 8 cell ni-cads. So i am using a BRC hobbies 2814-8t with a Wasp 33Amp ESC. Of course this motor is wider than the 480 so the nose will be fatter as a result. Since i do not have a band saw or any 'fancy' or helpful tools at my mum it could replicate a first build with not much in the way of a workshop. I'm off to SMC later to get the rest of the balsa, but here is the current progress:     Here are some of the parts. Most of the parts have been cut out so far. I' m going to cut out all the parts first before start actually building. I bought the plan about 2 years ago, and built the tailplane then.       2814-8T motor turning a GWS 10X6 3-blader.   Nosewheel extended and modified to allow bigger prop.   New nosewheel mount. This will allow it to be steerable. Everything in black is new which i have drawn.   Bracket/bearings for nose leg.   New nose leg mount as shown on plan.  Bearings offset to the sideso the wheel will be on the centreline of the fus. I couldn't be bothered to get out the blow lamp to bens those springy loops.   New powertrain.   As you can see, the big prop would hit the ground with the original nose leg length. The black is the new stuff.   As you can see, again in black, the new nose leg mounting and the coaming has been raised.   New mount shown against plan.   Again, modified plan. New stuff in black.   1/8" birch ply motor mount/bulkhead. The two layers of 3/16" balsa laminated on the front hide the prop adapter.   Here is what i mean.   My shopping list.   I will post some more pics when i get the wood and start on the
