I have been given two old Balsa cabin Sonata kits, sadly there are no plans with either. Does anyone have a copy of the plan that I could buy/borrow or copy. Bill

I have one of the original Balsa Cabin Sonata E's which I would like to complete as my first foray into electric flight. To save me from some horrible and expensive trial and error could any members suggest battery/motor/ESC/prop combinations that they have found effective please...? ....and any pitfalls as well !! Any and all help greatly appreciated.....

I have aquired an old 2m Sonata E kit originally supplied by Balsa Cabin in the early eighties. The design I believe was the electric version of the old popular Sonata 2m Thermal glider of the time designed by Ken Goater, just with a broader fuselage to accomodate the electric installation. Unfortunately the instructions are sketchy and only give a line drawing of the placement of an electric motor and its components. I would suspect a 600 motor would have been the ideal for this size of model. I would certainly like to give this one a go but having only flown IC and new to the field of electrics can anyone give an idea of what would be a suitable motor setup. Thanks.

I have a Sonata kit, the one designed by Cliff Goater and I also have the plan. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions they could email me? It is the standard kit but I am going to fit a suitable outrunner to make it self-launching. I think the Sonata E had a wider fuselage for the electrics but modern stuff will fit in easily. Thanks in advance. Levanter
