J V R
This was sent to me from a mate who is in to miliatry radio's.... '' If calculations are right and this aerial can provide only squad comms, then there is already a very good radio that does this and is relatively cheap and inconspicuous - Marconi's PRC343, the Personal Role Radio using LAN technology working at 2.4GHz ''. '' The range is around 200 metres depending on terrain and the nearby buildings. The radio is small - not much bigger than a couple of fag packets, and the aerial is several inches high Would this shoot down a model? it's the standard Army squad radio.'' http://www.milspec.ca/radspec/prc-343.htmlEdited By J V R on 21/02/2010 12:01:
Brian Parker
By the description the system is a LAN and uses a multiple access coding key probably similar to bluetooth etc. A different access method to our system.
Frank Skilbeck
Sounds a lot like the original Spektrum DSM 1 technology, it says can use 256 channels, so it will probably look for a free channel before transmitting. But it's another wi-fi system and hence won't cause any noticable problems. Same as why different makes of Tx don't interfer with each other
