birdy
It would be useful if you could tell us the weight etc, and maby a picture? Thanks, birdy
Bob Cotsford
On my Sunrise 100" soarer I used a BL2815 motor, 60A esc, 3s 2250 lipo and 12*6 prop. It's probably a bit overpowered considering it's a floater by design, but if I am thinking of the right model, yours has foam wings so should handle 350+ watts ok. I haven't yet flattened a battery in it, 3 or 4 climb-outs and I get a crick in the neck. Still plenty of poke left after that. twilightflyer
Thanks guys, yes you are quite right Bob,it has foam wings, flies brilliantly off the slopes. The a/c is about 20 years old, I've stripped off all the old covering and it's still in good shape.I have a couple of motors around similar to your motor spec so I think I shall do my sums and see what I can come up with.I shall endeavour to post my findings and maybe a piccie or two. Thanks again.Ray
Ed Anderson
Ray, Why are you adding a motor to a slope glider? Are you planning to do some flat field thermal soaring? Is it protection from losing your slope glider when the wind stops? What kind of performance are you trying to achieve? Verticle climb? Enough to maintain altitude till you make it back to the slope site landing area? Sport or competition? As Birdy said, what does your glider weigh? A photo would be nice too, especially of the inside of the nose area.
