matt jarvis Posted August 29, 2010 Author Share Posted August 29, 2010 The insperation behind building my Hawker Nimrod was that this was one of the types of biplanes stationed on HMS Glorious in 1940,my Grandfather was lost on this ship when it was sunk by the German warship Scharnhorst off Norway June 8th 1940. I think its an unusual choice of model for my first build, but I found that by just photocopying an old Westwings Hawker hart plan from 1/18 to 1/9th (no distortion I checked )shows how easy it is to upscale and modify a plan in to a new model.Also canniblising an old Parkzone T29 Trojan for the electrics made it cheap to, Wingspan 55"5 channel All up weight 1020kgParkzone/Eflite 450 920Kv brushless outrunner motor.Parkzone 35mhz rxEflite 30Amp ESC 11v 25c 3s battery. Silver and light greyProfilm Light grey enamel paint for engine bay and cowel.Yellow /red /white/ blue/black Solartrim.WIlliams Bros Golden Age Wheels 3 3/4 inch.
