Flash1
Can anyone tell me where I can find illustrated instructions on building a 4.5v flight receiver pack from 4 AA cells?
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Well...4 AA cells will give you nominally 4.8 volts (1.2volts per cell NiMh/NiCd) but around 5 & a bit volts when charged. Making your own pack is not hard but I would question why you would want to when you can buy a pack, factory assembled & complete for not much more than a fiver here Why go to all the hassle or sourcing the leads/connectors/heatshrink & then risking a poor solder joint to save a few pennies....? I doubt you'd source decent cells for less than a pound each after all.....
Biggles' Elder Brother - Moderator
I've got to say I agree with Steve here Flash. There seems very little plus side for a significant amount of extra work? You're going to need to source the straps and then be very confident about soldering them without damaging the cells. Bruce Richards
I have to agree with the two posts above. You can buy good quality 4 cell AA pack in both flat and square arrangements. Making them yourself has no benefits that I can see.
