Colin Bernard
I am having problems trying to check and balance a Hyperion CX 2S LiPo. If I try and use a EQ-6+ balancer with a Pro-Peak charger then it reports a connection error. If I connect up my watt meter then for some reason it sees the battery as a 3S LiPo and reports voltages of 0.75, 3.33, 4.15, (i.e. it sees the first cell as 2). Anyone any idea what is going on? The battery seems to charge up OK but I always like to balance charge, and make use of the watt meter to do a quick capacity check. I am wondering if the balancer connector is wired incorrectly somehow. This is the only 2S battery I have so I cannot check against another, and all my 3S batteries work fine with both the balancer and watt meter. Steve W-O
Are the three reading you have maybe cell1, cell2, and total? (one of my testers does that) Check the individual cell voltage with a multimeter, it sounds as if one cell has failed. Sorry, see you said it charges OK, so can't be faulty. Colin Bernard
Thanks for the quick reply Steve but as you say, both the charger and my in-line meter tell me it is charged to 8.2v. Very strange. Can't manage on just 1 Li-Po so will order another (different make) and see if it is any different.
