Flanker .
Hi all. I have just fitted a lovely 30 cc DLE to my YAK. (meant for a .60) It flies VERY nicely indeed thank you very much . Thing is the large petrol motor generates some vibration esp at low RPM. More vibes than a .91 Glo ? Maybe not but definitely more low frequency vibes. Now the whole shebang relies on the integrity of the little (new) Futaba switch mounted on the side of the fuz. OK I assume Futaba planned for out of balance props etc when they designed the thing and I have never had one fail but .... Are there "petrol" switches ? Would mounting in silicone and operating with a wire be good !? I would welcome any thoughts. Go well all, FEdited By Flanker . on 11/02/2011 14:51:
ken anderson.
flanker--i've seen switches mounted on sandwiches made from two bit's of ply with some foam in the middle...also i seen them suspended inside model's with 'elastic' strap's/band's so they are floating and not hard mounted...and of course there are heavy duty switches avalable...check out what the 'large model people use....may suit your need's...... ken anderson ne...1. 001
Have a look at the Multiplex range of 'safety' switches, they do not depend on a mechanical make or break switch.
