Thanks Kieth, since "posting" the Q, I have had access to a few light aircraft with similar flaps and it's all to do with "arms and brackets", the full size Whirlwind had a groove in the top of the flap, which a roller then slid into. Very hard to reproduce, in a smaller scale,the most successfull way I found is how I have done it on my model (Scale matters> whirlwind>....),      Barry
