Bladerunner
Thats all nice and well - when is someone going to review the new FSa series? Very keen to find out how they implement their recirculating oiling system.
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
Not sure its a full recirculating oil system Bladerunner.....all I think it means is that the crankcase breather is connected to the inlet manifold so any oil chucked out the breather is consumed by the engine rather than being flung around the cowl. A few 4T motors (like my ASP70) do this with a bit of silicon tube between the breather nipple & a nipple on the intake manifold...all OS have done is incorporate a channel in the crankcase to replace the tube!!!! Bladerunner
Thanks Steve, quite clever of them.
Doug Ireland
I think my Surpass 70 has one as well (been a while since I've used it), and I also recall someone suggesting its removal if the engine runs a bit rough?
Steve Hargreaves - Moderator
H'mmmm I would think it more likely to run rough with the tube disconnected Doug. With it connected you have a "sealed" system...disconnect the tube & you introduce an "air leak" between the carb & motor & this will play havoc with yer settings if not stop the motor altogether.....It might have been suggested to check the tube for leaks if it runs rough but I wouldn't think removing it was a good idea....
