ross blackwell
took new powered glider out last weekend to try new motor & esc. Flew well for about 2minutes then stopped? Landed to find batt. & esc quite hot but batt still holding good voltage. A friend suggested to use a "programm card" to check the set-up of motor/esc arrangement. The battery is 11.1 1550amps & esc 60amps. there a simple formula to work to with these things? Ross B. Tassie.
Wingman
Ross - you would use a 'program card' to adjust the settings - cut-off voltage, brake etc. - of the ESC and you need the specific card that goes with your ESC - I'm afraid one card doesn't fit all - However what you really need is a wattmeter which you connect between the battery and the ESC and shows how much current your motor and prop is drawing - from what you say it would seem that your set-up is a bit over propped and is drawing too much current for what your battery is 'happy' to supply - at 60amps your ESC will be OK.
