Vincent Forword
HelloI'm looking at getting more into airliner models and found a site in Hong Kong that produce a replica of the new Airbus A380. It's original format is for gliding, but it can have electric motors installedI just wanted to find out if anybody has this model or knows of anyone who's bought one - what are the pros and cons of this model etc. Seems that not too many companies offer anything in the way or Airliners except for the E-Flite version. The one from Windrider is for electric motors and the basic kit only costs $180 with $80 delivery charge - they quoted $555 for delivery of the kit along with the 4 electric motors and ESC.http://www.windrider.com.hk/products/product.cfm?id=9Can anybody tell me if anyone in the UK offers similar products? Thanks in advance for your responses Vincent

Tim Mackey
Hi Scott, are you involved with this company by any chance?Sorry, silly me just checked your profile and all is clear
Tim Mackey
The hawk looks to be exactly the model I have been waiting for..... reasonable price, reasonable looks, decent size, and of course EDF !Couple of Qs...The wheels look very small for grass strips - could they be enlarged without causing too much hassle with the wheel wells ?Is canopy easily removed as the office is empty ! scott cuppello
The canopy glues together, my F-86 has a pilot, the oleo's I think would struggle to take a larger wheel without modification. Wheel diameter is 55mm [rears]....about the same as a lot of 0.40 size stuff......anyway, yes, guilty as charged, am involved.....so I'll get me coat now! Pat Tebby
Anyone come across plans for the dear old Vickers VC10? If so where can they be purchased? I live in Spain so postage and packing are a consideration. Cheers
Tim Mackey
Well Jetsome, if you mean the Hawk, the web-spec certainly staes that for your 150 notes the air retracts and motor and fan are all included ! Seems a bargain to good to miss to me...trouble is wifey is still complaining about how much the Hangar 9 camel is ending up costing to get airborne. Think this one will have to go on the back burner .....just for a while
scott cuppello
It includes a 92mm fan and air retracts but not the motor, which is an additional £49.00 for the good one [there is a cheaper 1800kv version for 5s, but current draw is really quite high by all accounts], so we only offer the top of range 1600kv motor, which you can use 5 or 6s...up to you. scott cuppello
If you read the head-liner, it says "with air-retracts", we can offer the fixed U/C version, but figured the retract version is going to be more poular [fixed gear version £110]. postage is a tenner [it's big!], motor is E-Start T-50 15L/1600kv. Tim Mackey
I reckon thats a great deal, and one should be dispatched to me immediately for a review
Vincent Forword
Still no luck from Wrexham about the Airliner kit......think it's only available from Hong Kong. Anybody know of any other places to get Airliner replicas short of shelling out for the www.EDFmodels.com versions?
scott cuppello
They are not that big I'm afraid, other than the 3 I know of [and two of those are exec jets] and the E-Flight job.....not a lot, and those few I have seen are in the HOW MUCH? catagory! Timbo.....nice try mate!
