Barrie Dav 2
I'm having to fit battery and ESC into a pretty tight space. They fit OK but the balance connectors are too far apart to join up. Is there a limit on the length of the balance lead for the system to work correctly or will, say, a 10cm extension be alright?
Olly P
Hi Barry I'm confused. Normally in flight your balance leads aren't connected to anything except an optional voltage monitor or telemetry unit? What are you planning to do to/with them? John Cole
If you have a HobbyWIng Guard ESC (or similar) then the ESC LVC looks at each cell's voltage, not just the pack total voltage, and cuts the motor power when the lowest-voltage cell hits the limit you chose. For this, YES, you can use an extension to connect the 2 balance connectors.
Barrie Dav 2
Thanks for the gen John. Olly I have some Hobbywing Guard ESCs and they have a balance connector.
