Myron Beaumont
Follow on from Hawk thread --& while I'm at it -What shape should the tube / exhaust be for max. efficiency (approx 10 inches long )? I assume uniform in diameter from the fan outlet but could be wrong ( again)
Tim Mackey
Gorilla ( PU ) sticks just about anything to anything, it really does do what it says on the tin Many exhaust ducts / thrust tube / whatever you want to call them benefirt from some slight tapering towards the rear...but some argue that this might improve one thrust and spoil the other ( static /flying )The ducting should have been moulded / preshaped in the kit ? Swissflyer
Hi Myron, I use Depron in my EDF jets, keep ‘em light, and use the old pre-glue trick to stick Depron to the balsa parts : 1) Thinly coat the balsa with old fashioned balsa cement & let it dry 2) Stick Depron to balsa with UHU Por & enjoy light strong joints Happy sticking Mark PS Take a look at Richard Sharman's EDF thread, Richard offers us an Excel spreadsheet on how to dimension inlets & outlets according to Watts supplied by your fan. There is a Hawk example & I can confirm that the tool works well for me Edited By Swissflyer on 27/11/2012 10:21:
