This topic has cropped up a number of times and a switch isn't really feasible because of the high currents involved - you would need automotive type switches which are big and heavy or add more complexity such as a remotely operated relay.

The way most people seem to be overcoming this problem is to use an in-line Deans connector into which you put a shorting link to arm it. One of the threads is here:

Also, this was covered in the latest RCM&E magazine - they are straightforward to make as long as you are confident at soldering - this needs to be good quality to avoid losses and be reliable
