Spice Cat
Watch to the end and don't be put off by the engine failure. I bet we all wish for events like this. It looked a very challenging field to fly from with a model that size.
Plummet
What do they mean by Aluminium Overcast? Is this one of those models that has been built from metal, like the, was it a Beaver, that was at Cosforth a few years ago. If I was to choose an evil flying site for large models I am not sure what i would add to it. Narrow strip, lots of trees and all those overhead wires. Wonderful. If you follow the link to the second flight you will see that he has a special skill for losing engines. Plummet
John Olsen 1
Aluminium Overcast is the name of a full size B17 that still exists. See Wikipedia for details. John
Willowlea
Beautiful. Apparently Plummet the Aluminium overcast is the name given to one of only a few (think it's 1 of 10) B-17 flying fortresses in existence and a chap who used to own the B-17 was flying one day with his friend in a P-51 mustang. They passed under the B-17 as it was out flying too and the B-17 pilot asked them how it looked to which the P-51 pilot replied it looked like he was passing under an "aluminum overcast" . That was the name it was then given.
