StuartC
So I bought an AMAX BAE Hawk as a second hand, un built ARTF. 70mm Fan with a 2826 Brushless motor and 25amp ESC. All were pre installed. Comes with a 1500 mha 11.1v 15C lipo which it managed to cook in 2 min. Tried a 1600mha 25C 11.1v lipo from one of my other aircraft in it just incase it was a battery issue, cooked in 2 min............. So, im unsure if the ESC is duff or the motors duff ( or both ). Suggestions/ideas???????? apart from hat its as slow as a week in the jail but rock solid in the air. Tempted to plug in a 4 cell pack to see if it will survive or not. Tony Read 2
The ESC looks a bit weedy to me for a 70mm fan, although the specs for the Turnigy 2826 say max current 21A. They then state that the recommended rating for the ESC is 40A! I would definitely fit a bigger ESC if you are going 4 cell. Be a shame to fry the plane in the air, but it might look good with a cloud of black smoke out the back. For a few seconds anyway.
StuartC
Ordered a new Fan/Motor/ESC combo for it. Once it arrives I hope that will be the end of the problems ( theres nothing left electronically to change ! )
