KingE
Hello all, I recentley brought a old hanger 9 p51d yellow tail mustang second hand just for a project all works fine it has a super tiger 90 2stroke up front and air sprung retracts. Now the guy i brought it of gave me a set of retract struts the kind you would find on a smaller model and ofcorse i fitted them in and when the plane is on the ground you can see this model is WAY to heavy for them one landing and they will break. Can anyone suggest a set or does anybody have this older kit ? i have had a look but online but retracts dont realy get the attention they need sometimes on specs lists. Thanks in advance. Bob Cotsford
I've got a H9 Texan, the retracts with that made it look like a Monty Python sketch when taxying it as the model 'walked' across the field. I replaced them with Hobbyking 4.7Kg rated electric units and fitted 6swg legs. So far it's stood up to our grass field ok. I've also got th E-Flite 60-120 size units in a Ki61 and they seem fine. Both units needed very little work to fit. Edited By Bob Cotsford on 22/10/2013 18:18:

stuey
If you are considering the E-Flite retracts, there is a new version out that can take a 5mm wire leg, or a 10mm strut. I have a couple of pics in my album.
